I love the idea of using such calming ingredients, such as lavender!  Both calendula and lavender are perfect to use with my son. When we have our long stressful days, we both get the calm feeling during his bath time.

Calendula offers so many benefits, including soothes our skin, natural relief, antibacterial, and anti-fungal. I already enjoy using lavender essential oil, so lavender in our soap will help relax and de-stress us during his bath!

This recipe makes approximately 16 ounces of whipped soap. You can easily divide this recipe into 4 oz jars instead to give away as gifts. When I’m on a tight budget but still want to give a small gift, the whipped soap is perfect! I can easily see making these as teacher gifts!

Dried Calendula Lavender Whipped Soap Steps 4-6

Steps 5-6:
Fold cornstarch into whipped soap mixture. Add melted soap base and mix on low with a hand or stand mixer for 1 minute. Mix on high until mixture begins to thicken and is light and fluffy, much like frosting.

Steps 7-9:
Divide soap mixture into two smaller bowls. Mix in 1-2 drops of the lavender/purple to one and 1-2 drops of yellow/orange to the other. Mix in the dried calendula and lavender. I used a spice grinder to make it easier to pipe the mixture into the jars.

Steps 10-12:
Cut tip of piping bag and place piping tip into the piping bag. Carefully add one of each color frosting, so they are side by side, to the piping bag.

Step 13:
Holding bag tightly in your dominant hand, pipe the frosting into your Mason Jar. Top with a sprinkling of dried flowers if desired.
