Spiderman Bath Bombs

When my son was little and ready for his own bed, he had Superman bedding!  It was so cute! He seemed to love the color red and his dad liked the color blue, so it just worked perfectly. Over the years, we tried keeping Superman toys and such for him to play with. Are you ready to make homemade bath bombs? We are so excited to share our Spiderman Bath Bombs recipe!

As a boy mom, I always feel like everything is geared towards little girls or moms and daughters. So, I am thrilled to share a fun bath bomb activity for boys (and girls) to enjoy! Spiderman is a superhero! He is the perfect role model for everyone to look up to!

When my son was younger, he loved taking long baths. These days, he prefers short baths, long enough to wash his and body and he’s done!  No more playing around. When I introduced him to the bath bombs, he was unsure about them at first. It took a few tries and now he loves taking a little longer in the bathtub.

I rarely take baths, mainly because my son used to jump in with me. So, I’ve never really tried bath bombs. I’ve tried bath salts and those are relaxing.

The Spiderman Bath Bombs are so much fun to make and keep on hand for both my son and me to enjoy in our own baths!

dead sea salts

coconut oil

polysorbate 80

Candy Apple scented oil

Red soap coloring

microwave-safe measuring cups

Spiderman Bath Bombs

Make your own Spiderman Bath Bombs! These are perfect for kids to help make, use their creativity, and they get to use them in their bath! Fun for adults too!

Ingredients

• 2 cups baking soda
• 1 cup citric acid
• 1/4 cup cornstarch
• 1/4 cup dead sea salts
• 1/3 cup coconut oil
• 1 teaspoon polysorbate 80
• 1 teaspoon of Candy Apple scented oil
• Red soap coloring
• Red cosmetic glitter
• Black mica powder
• Black cosmetic glitter
• Spray bottle of rubbing alcohol
• Spiderman silicone mold
• 1 microwave safe measuring cups

Instructions

• Instructions to make bath bombs:
• Steps 1-5: In a large mixing bowl, add the baking soda, citric acid, dead sea salts and cornstarch. Whisk dry ingredients together.
  
• Step 6: Add the coconut oil. This binds all the ingredients together, so you bath bombs don’t crumble when you touch them!
  
• Steps 7-8: Add the polysorbate 8This helps the coconut oil disperse more evenly in your bath water, makes the bath bombs bubbly and prevents the mica from sticking to the side of the tub. Mix well. You may need to use your hands to break down any lumps and make sure everything is mixed in. The mixture is perfect when it holds together when you press it into your hands and feels like wet sand.
• Steps 9-12: Add 1-2 drops of the red colorant. Mix well. Continue to add 1 drop of color until you achieve the color you desire. Add red cosmetic glitter.
  
• Steps 13-14: Add bath bomb mixture to your mold. Fill to the top and pack down firmly. Allow to dry at least 24 hours. Release from mold.
  
• Step 15: If you want, you can add some sparkle by adding red glitter to your bath bomb after it dries. I sprayed a bit of alcohol on the bath bomb and sprayed the red glitter. You can buy the dry sprayer from Amazon, or you can just sprinkle it on.
  
• Instructions to paint bath bomb:
• Steps 1-4: In a small container, add a pinch of black mica and a small squirt of alcohol and mix.
  
• Steps 5-6: Using a small paint brush with a pointed end, dab the mica/alcohol mixture in the eyes. Sprinkle glitter and allow to dry. Store in an airtight container until ready for use.
