Non-Toxic Cleaning And Pest Control

I choose natural and non-toxic products as much as I can. While I am not perfect, I choose natural when my budget allows. When it comes to cleaning around my home, I use natural cleaning products. Even when it comes to gardening, I recently switched to organic fertilizer and I prefer to use organic potting soil for my houseplants! I’m so excited to share our non-toxic cleaning and pest control tips!

Non-Toxic Cleaning And Pest Control
Beauty Brite Disclosure

I have a love/hate relationship with cleaning. I try to keep our home clean, neat, and tidy. However, I know it’s cluttered, but I still try to keep it looking decent and tidy! I am always cleaning the hard surfaces around our home. I also like wiping down our bathroom mirrors!

I dislike cleaning toilets and even the bathtubs!

I prefer using natural products to clean our bathtubs because they don’t irritate my lungs, breathing, and eyes. I used to use regular chemical cleaners to clean and they would give me headaches and irritate my breathing! No more!

Multi-Surface Cleaners

Mrs Meyers Clean Day Multi-Surface Everyday Cleaner - Lavender

I remember, I had a bottle of Mrs. Meyers Clean Day Multi-Surface Everyday Cleaner – Lavender and loved it. However, with all of our moving over the years, it was thrown away! I am so excited to have it again!

I love using Mrs. Meyers Clean Day Multi-Surface Everyday Cleaner – Lavender on any of our hard surfaces, including our kitchen counters and bathroom counters. The lavender is so calming and smells so good! It’s not overpowering or annoying at all. It’s the perfect subtle scent

Swanson Eco-Friendly All Purpose Cleaner

When it comes to cleaning our bathtubs and showers, I use the Swanson Eco-Friendly All Purpose Cleaner! First, I rinse the surfaces I want to clean. Then I spray the Swanson Eco-Friendly All Purpose Cleaner all over. I let it sit for a few seconds and then scrub! Once I use a little elbow grease to scrub the shower, I then rinse with water!

I am now inspired and motivated to keep our bathtubs and showers clean with the Swanson Eco-Friendly All Purpose Cleaner

Our bathtubs were starting to look like they needed a good scrubbing. I was able to clean our tubs using the Swanson Eco-Friendly All Purpose Cleaner

Air Refresh

Counter Culture Air Fabric Refresh

I’ve been wanting to try the Counter Culture products as some of our writers have had a chance to use them! Since I love natural cleaners and essential oils, I wanted to try cleaning products with natural scents! I received Counter Culture Air + Fabric Refresh to try!

Since we spend so much time in our home, I like to keep our air fresh! I love the idea of using air fresheners around the home. Instead, I use soy candles or oil diffusers to add scent to our indoor air!

The Counter Culture Air + Fabric Refresh can be used all over our home. When I need to quickly freshen up, I walk around our home and spray each room! I also like to use this on our couches. My son sleeps on the couch. I have since lined our couches with blankets, so I can wash them weekly. I also like to remove odors with baking soda. I’ll sprinkle baking soda on the couches and let it sit for about 20 minutes. Usually I’ll sprinkle it before we leave to run an errand and then vacuum the couches when we return home.

Now, I have the Counter Culture Air + Fabric Refresh for a quick refresh! I spray all over our couches and it freshens up our living room!

Pest Control

Now Foods Neem Oil

A few months ago, I bought a bag of high quality potting soil on Amazon. It was from a really good brand, however, it was infested with gnats. I only potted up a few of my plants but that’s all it took! We had gnats everywhere. I tried 3 natural pest control methods! I tried the ACV method of trying to get rid of them. I also tried Diatomaceous Earth and that didn’t work either. I think I needed to water my plants much less than I was.

The last method I wanted to try was neem oil! I was determined to battle the gnats! I wanted to try the Now Foods Neem Oil! I didn’t really follow a specific recipe. I just filled up a spray bottle with about 4 oz of water and several drops of the Now Foods Neem Oil! Some recipes call for a few drops of dish soap and shake. I just used water and neem oil and shake. I’ve been spraying my plants a few times a day and the gnats are less and less. I will continue to monitor.
