Beauty Brite Disclosure

When our son was diagnosed with Autism, I was ready to embrace the challenge.

I love showing our Autism pride. I wish I had more Autism Awareness themed clothing. My husband even mentioned a big Autism website selling clothing!

Since my husband and I only have one child, we have no other experience raising other children. Our life may be unique but it is the only one we know.

Do you know a child with Autism? Living with Autism is always a challenge but it is our norm. As parents, we have learned patience, understanding and how to figure out non-verbal cues.

Our son thrives on routine. Routines allow him to control his environment and he knows what to expect. There are times when he does welcome surprises but other than that, he prefers his routines.

Dressing our son is pretty easy as well. He likes his pull-on pants, polo shirts and sneakers. Right now, he has several polo shirts but only wears certain ones. We have a mix of solid color polos, striped polos and Disney tees. He only wears the striped polos and Disney tees. He doesn’t seem to like the solid color tees for some reason.

Both my husband and I will receive an Autism Tee!

I eventually want more Autism themed accessories, such as tote bags, key chains and more clothing options!

  1. I don’t think that I would care so much about Autism if it was not for Kyle. It always his more to home when you know someone is facing something that is so hard.

  2. I always do the 5K walk/run for Autism! Children are the most resilient beings on this earth!
