Even though I am working on losing weight, it doesn’t help that I have a huge sweet tooth! I love my chocolate. I also love cupcakes! Every once in a while, I like to treat my son and me to special treats! I am just getting into baking again. I know I love making pretty creations and I am so excited to share these awesome Kit Kat Cupcakes!

This is actually a great recipe to make around Halloween, especially if you have extra Kit Kat bars! Who am I kidding? I love chocolate candy throughout the year! Don’t you?

The Kit Kat Cupcakes would be the perfect treat to make for any get-together! The Kit Kat Cupcakes will surely be a crowd pleaser! You can be as creative as you’d like.

Kit Kat Cupcakes Recipe

Kit Kat Cupcakes

The Kit Kat Cupcakes are a fun treat to make!  Perfect to make when you have extra Kit Kat bars or you just have a sweet tooth!

Ingredients
  

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • cup cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 large egg room temperature
  • ½ cup buttermilk at room temperature
  • ½ cup hot coffee
  • ¼ cup vegetable oil
  • tsp vanilla extract

FROSTING

  • 2 sticks unsalted butter room temperature
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp heavy cream
  • 6 snack size Kit Kats crushed
  • 5-6 Kit Kats sliced into quarters

Instructions
 

DIRECTIONS

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Line muffin tins with cupcake liners.
  • Add your Kit Kat bars into a ziploc bag seal closed.
  • Using a rolling pin crush your candy bars.
  • In a large bowl add together all the dry ingredients and sift.
  • In a medium bowl, add all the wet ingredients, whisk to combine.
  • Add your egg and whisk the egg into the wet ingredients.
  • Using a stand mixer, add your dry ingredients.
  • Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients.
  • Mix for 2 minutes on medium speed and scrape down the sides and bottom of bowl.
  • Divide evenly among the cupcake liners.
  • Bake for 13 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  • Allow cupcakes to cool completely.

FOR FROSTING:

  • In a stand mixer use a paddle fixture add the butter mix medium speed for about 2-3 minutes.
  • Butter will be light and creamy.
  • Add the powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and heavy cream to the butter.
  • Begin to mix on low speed.
  • Add the crushed Kit Kats and increase speed to medium-high and whip for 6 minutes.
  • Chop remaining Kit Kats into quarters.
  • Drizzle fudge on top of the cupcakes.
  • Garnish the cupcakes with the Kit Kats.
  • ENJOY!!
