I don’t think any table is properly dressed for a family gathering unless there is some kind of centerpiece that pulls the whole tablescape together. You don’t have to confine yourself to flowers or a bouquet, though. You can let your imagination roll when it comes to what you make the focal point, anything from a bowl of colorful fruit to a display of greenery or any decorative display that fits the occasion.
This holiday season, Teleflora® is decorating my table with this distinctly beautiful holiday bouquet arrangement. While I haven’t yet decorated the house very much, in general, this one simple area of decoration has done a lot to lift my spirits and start getting me in a more festive mood.
I chose the Woodland Winter Bouquet from Teleflora’s® Christmas 2017 Holiday Bouquet Arrangement Collection. It smells amazing! And it looks so beautiful at the center of my table. The Douglas Fir greenery is mixed with red roses, red and white carnations, and lemon leaf. It also includes white-tipped pine cones and small silver ball decorations tucked in for added accent.
All of this is contained in a beautiful square glass cube vase adorned with a scene of silver trees. I like that, it feels like a little bit of the outdoors has been incorporated into the indoor celebration. The vase can be used year-round in many decorative ways. You could fill it with colorful rocks or marbles and arrange some silk flowers in it for fall or use it as a votive holder. I can even see it being used to hold plastic silverware in the future for other occasions after the live bouquet is past it’s prime.
So, the table isn’t quite finished yet. I haven’t gotten my nice silverware out of storage yet and I bought some pretty and simple white linen placemats that I may add to each setting. I haven’t quite decided on that, yet. I’m not sure if they will give the visual effect I want. But, I will pull them out and try them and just see how they look.
As I said, I haven’t pulled many decorations out of storage, but I have been picking a few things up here at there. What do you think about the new additions?

And of course, there’s the Christmas tree. We have ours up, though just about everyone in the family has been sick lately so the ornaments and candy canes haven’t been hung yet.
The hubby and I kind of have a war of the tree going on because it’s pre-lit with the choice of colored or white lights. He likes the colored lights, while I love the simpler, more elegant white ones. First world problems, right?
Why is it so hard to get a good picture of a Christmas tree without the lights making for a blurry image? Ugh!
Anyway, so there’s where I am with preparing for the holidays.
