3 Easy Ways To Cut Your Heating Bill

3 Easy Ways To Cut Your Heating Bill

Beauty Brite Disclosure

This year, I decided to use space heaters to keep us warm. Around this time last year, I specifically remember trying to get some work done in the living room. I had the heater on and I was under 2 blankets.

I was still cold.

My hands and fingers could barely move, my feet were cold and the the heater was not helping. That is when I decided no more freezing fingers and toes! I bought two space heaters. I wanted us to have the option to use two since we all spend time in different rooms of our home.

While I love our space heaters, they are huge! I do appreciate that they have wheels so we can easily move them from room to room.

I am thrilled to introduce a safe and compact space heater that is perfect for any living space. We have a child with special needs and we live in a small apartment, I wanted a space heater that was safe to use for our needs.

Meet the Honeywell HeatGenius Ceramic Heater:

The Honeywell HeatGenius Ceramic Heater is safe to use around our son because it is cool to the touch and difficult to tip over. This is perfect for those with little ones! It is also quiet, no disturbing you while you sleep.

There are 6 settings and I have barely figured them all out. I mainly use the personal heating option to heat our bedroom.

Here are 3 easy ways to cut your heating bill:

1. Roll Your Towels

We live in an old building. Our windows are old and have been painted over so much that they are very difficult to open. Our windows and door leaks cold air. So much so, our indoor heating is a joke. I like to roll up old towels and stuff them against the door and window sills. It helps a bit.

2. Add Layers

Add layers! This may sound obvious but wearing more clothing does help keep you warm and cozy. I am in search of cozy socks or slippers to wear. I hope to find sherpa lined socks or slippers to cozy up in! I also use extra blankets for added warmth.

3. Space Heaters

Since our indoor heating seems to be a waste, I chose to use space heaters to heat up our home. Instead of using the heater to heat the entire apartment, we use space heaters in the rooms that we are in.

My husband and I have different sleep schedules due to work. He uses the space heater in the living room, which also helps to heat the den and front area of the apartment. When it is super cold, I use the Honeywell HeatGenius Ceramic Heater to heat the bedrooms to keep us warm.

Many space heaters today are compact and safe to use around children. We always look for “cool touch” space heaters for that extra safety feature.

The Honeywell HeatGenius Ceramic Heater is the perfect option. You can heat just about any size room or apartment.

You can find Honeywell on their website, Facebook and Twitter.

  1. I feel your pain about the cold struggle! LOL! Space heaters have also become a saving grace for me, but I had never heard of this brand before – I’ll have to check it out! Awesome tips!

  2. Great tips. We had single Pane windows on our previous place and it was always freezing. Rolled towels helped a bit.

  3. I miss my little heater, these little space heaters are really great. I used to keep one at work to keep warm in my little cubicle.

  4. My space heater has been a life saver this season. It’s been such a cost saver!

  5. I am currently sitting here in sweat pants, sweat shirt, a heavy terry robe and furry socks–and I am still cold! The heat does not seem to be reaching my 7th floor apartment. I will definitely be looking into getting one of these–I just hope my cat doesn’t figure out how to tip it over!!

  6. This is such helpful information. The bills are so much in the these winter months, willy surely try this and see!!

I love Honeywell heating products. Any money that can be saved on heating costs is a great help and keeps us within budget.

Any way we can bundle up and save in the winter gets top points with me. The heating bills are outrageous!

  9. I was just researching new space heaters last week! Living in Pennsylvania in a 100-year-old home makes for some expensive heating costs during the winter. A good space heater can take some pressure off of old radiator heating on an especially frigid day.
