Weight Loss Journey Week 1

When I was a stay at home mom, I had plenty of time to exercise. I would do cardio workouts that were just under an hour. When I started working full time, I found myself with less time over all. By the time I got home, I was too exhausted to exercise. When I got home, I just wanted unwind and get ready for the evening. Now that I am stay at home wife and mom again, I am really trying to get back into exercise.

I have dealt with health issues, such as vertigo, weakness, not enough energy, or dizziness. About two months ago, I tried getting back into cardio by doing a “mixed martial arts” workout program that I used to do a few years ago. Unfortunately, a few days in, I injured myself pretty badly. It put me out of commission for a good week and then a few more weeks for the pain to finally go away.

When the pain finally went away, I started with pilates and then walking and jogging on the treadmill.

I am now on a journey to lose weight. I want to lose 20 or more pounds. My journey isn’t just about weight loss. It is about feeling better about myself and my body. I want to slim down and tone up. This is a new start to find my body from a few years ago! A few years ago, I was able to keep up with PiYo, Turbo Fire and 21 Day Fix. I use to rotate my workouts to change it up and challenge myself.

This week, I started doing Turbo Jam. I am starting super slow this time. I don’t want to injure myself. In addition, I also started eating black beans at least twice a day. I like adding black beans to scrambled eggs for breakfast and I can add it to rice and veggies for dinner. As a vegetarian, I was lacking the protein that my body needed.

I first started doing Turbo Jam in 2009 or so. I bought Turbo Jam on Amazon with gift cards I had earned by doing various online programs. I eventually worked my way up to Turbo Fire. I am trying my best to stay motivated with my workouts this time around.

  1. Good luck with your new workout routine! I’m sorry you have vertigo. I have it too and I know how hard it is to do things and having to make sure you don’t get dizzy. I like to walk every day for my exercise.
