Relocating Out Of State

Relocating Out Of State

Beauty Brite Disclosure

My husband and I have been married for over 14 years and during that time, we’ve moved several times due to jobs, opportunities, family and more. We recently relocated out of state and still getting settled in. This is not the first time moving out of state but it has been almost 10 years since we’ve moved to a different state.

Crazy, right? It seems we are always moving.

This time around, it seemed a bit more difficult because our son is older and in school. We had to time to around his school schedule. My husband moved first. He secured our apartment, set up furniture all while working full time and going to school full time. Meanwhile, our son and I stayed behind until he finished school. My son and I are now getting settled in.

About 7 years ago, we did a major purge when we moved from one city to another. This last move gave us another chance to purge most of our things. We are essentially starting over with the majority of our things.

With our new place, I bought a new green-friendly pan. A few days after purchasing it, I read the box and it said it was not suitable for induction (we have a flat stove top).

Kuhn Rikon Easy Induction Frying Pan

I knew I wanted a green-friendly pan and the Kuhn Rikon Easy Induction Frying Pan fits the bill! I feel safe using it in our household without worrying about toxic fumes. I also wanted a simple non-stick pan too. I cook a lot of quick meals. While it is dishwasher safe, I choose to hand wash it!

I’ve tried other brands of green-friendly pans and they always chip or lose their non-stick surface. They also get chips on the sides of the pan. So far, the Kuhn Rikon Easy Induction Frying Pan seems solid!

Modular Mates® Snack Center

Speaking of food, we love snacks! Our son is a picky eater. He doesn’t like all foods or snacks we buy. My husband and I tend to try snacks we think he’ll like. Other times, we just buy snacks we like.

Regardless, we always seem to have open packages of cereal, chips, and other foods. There are times when our snacks go bad when they are not properly sealed with a clip.

Tupperware with snacks

That’s where Tupperware comes in! Meet the Modular Mates® Snack Center. I knew right away that this set would be perfect for us! I love the idea of using BPA free containers to store our food! Tupperware has us covered!

The Modular Mates® Snack Center is perfect to store chips, cereal, popcorn and more! I am amazed at the variety of sizes in the set! The containers are uniquely shaped and generous in storage. The containers feature rounded edges which are perfect for storing in our pantry. The different sizes allow you to customize what snacks to store in each container.

Empyrean Bedding Hotel Luxury Premium Quality Sheets

When we moved, we decided to get rid of our furniture, which included our mattresses. Since we were getting new mattresses, we needed new sheets! The Empyrean Bedding Hotel Luxury Premium Quality Sheets are beautiful! We got them in Gray, which is perfect for our decor. We tend to lean towards blues and grays.

My son’s bed will need another set of sheets, so I plan on getting another set from Empyrean Bedding because I love the quality so much! I was searching for a budget friendly set of sheets for him but after reading the reviews, I realized you get what you pay for if you purchase low quality.

We want quality and we want our sheets to last, so Empyrean Bedding Hotel Luxury Premium Quality Sheets is worth the cost for the quality!

TJ Maxx

We still need more things for our new home. We are looking and buying things as we can. We stopped by TJ Maxx last weekend and we were blown away by their selection of home goods and linens.

Shopping for luggage

My husband also looked at their luggage sets. He travels at least one week a month for work, so he needs a set of luggage. Of course, TJ Maxx has a great selection to choose from.

TJ Maxx furniture

We looked at tables and other furniture to see what is available.

TJ Maxx Home Decor

At TJ Maxx, there is a nice selection of pillows, lamps, and art to choose from. There is so much to look at!

We’re still deciding what would work best for our decor. I tend to leave the decorating and color coordination to my husband since he is better at that. He already has a few ideas.

  1. Moving is hard, but it allows for one to start new and with new things. Bedding would be top of my list.

  2. Kelly Kimmell says:

I really hate moving. I have moved several times over the years & I hope to not have to move more than 1 more time.

  3. Melissa Storms says:

Moving is hard. I have only moved out of state once and even though it was one state away from my birth state there was a huge culture shock. I love it now though and my son was born here. Funny aside, I still have my Jersey accent and my son has an upstate NY accent, weird when your kids accent is different than yours.

We moved 3 years ago,but it was only to next door! I hated it having to pack stuff, mark everything,to know what I might need first. I still have stuff packed away! Even though my relocating wasn’t as far as yours,we probably had to do lot of work!

moving is a great time to get rid of stuff!! I moved from a home to a apartment 2 years ago and I got rid of a lot of stuff. But I have been doing some looking and getting rid of stuff. Just had to keep it because I really needed it. Never used it in 2 years its gone. Good feeling to start over with less
