Everyone in my house loves animated movies, especially when they combine human and animal characters. The Wild Life was a lot of fun to watch. I liked the parrot and cat characters, but absolutely adored the goat, Scrubby. He tries to eat just about anything because he can’t see worth a darn and can’t tell what’s food and what’s not. He was totally hilarious!
I know the cats, Mal and May, are supposed to be the villians. But, I’m a total cat lover, so I really enjoyed them and their litter of romping (evil?) kittens, too.
It all starts with a cute little parrot named Mak, AKA Tuesday, as he’s dubbed by the human who shipwrecks on the island. Mak has always said there was more out there in the world other than their little island. His friends are forced to admit he’s right when a ship crashes on their shore in a storm. Mak and the human cannot communicate, which is how Mak gets the name Tuesday from the human, Robinson Crusoe.
At first, the animals think Crusoe is a monster and try to scare him off the island. But, they eventually figure out he’s a good guy and they try to help him learn how to survive. The savage cats try their best to muck things up for Crusoe and his new animal friends. Will they succeed? Well, no spoilers here, you’ll just have to watch the movie to find out for yourself!
From the producers that brought audiences Shaun the Sheep Movie, Paddington and A Turtle’s Tale: Sammy’s Adventures, The Wild Life arrives on Blu-ray Combo Pack (plus DVD and Digital HD), DVD (plus Digital), and On Demand November 29 from nWave Pictures, Studiocanal and Summit Entertainment, a Lionsgate company. The Wild Life will also be available on Digital HD on November 22. The perfect film for families to watch together over the holidays, this wildly adventurous animated comedy begins as Mak the parrot and his friends discover a mysterious visitor washed up on their island’s shore.
Embark on a tropical misadventure with a group of quirky animals and their human castaway, Robinson Crusoe. When savage cats invade their paradise, Robinson and the island’s animals team up to defend themselves and their home in this fun-filled movie.
Many movies I wouldn’t bother watching more than once, but this one will be one of the few we watch again, I’m sure. I loved the storyline, the characters, the animation, and the action. Start to finish a good time was had by all as we giggled, gasped and generally were swept along with the story.
The movie is available now for purchase on Blu-ray Combo Pack and DVD and would make a perfect gift for all the movie lovers on your holiday list. Head to The Wild Life’s Facebook Page for more video featurettes. Check out the official trailer for the film (below) and let me know which character(s) are your favorite!
