There are many things that can cause skin irritation. Environmental pollutants, overuse (or misuse) of skin care products or cosmetics, allergic reactions are a few that come to mind. It’s not always convenient to take a week or more without using any skin care products or cosmetics to give your skin a break to repair or rejuvenate itself.
VMV Hypoallergenics offers a product that can help you get your skin issues addressed and give your skin a sort of do-over. This one week Skin Detox Complete Skin Fast Kit comes jam-packed with 9 products to give your skin a fresh start whether skin irritations are the issue or you just want a fresh start before beginning a different skin care routine.

My husband has somewhat sensitive skin, and if I change laundry products sometimes he can tell the difference. I typically try to wash his clothing separately from everyone else’s most of the time and use a laundry detergent that is free of fragrances and dyes. I used the Fawn & Launder Laundry Soap to wash a load of his clothes. It worked as well as any of the other hypoallergenic laundry detergents that I’ve used before and he never mentioned having any issues with skin sensitivity after I used it.
My favorite product out of the set is the Big, Brave Boo-Boo Balm. Winter is hard on my skin and the cleaning products I use don’t help, either. My lips often get dry (which hurts, obviously, but it puts me at risk for cold sores, too). And my hands, which come into contact with harsh cleaners and are washed often, get very dry. Sometimes the skin gets red and irritated and can crack around the knuckles. This can be pretty painful.
I use hand moisturizers religiously, but they aren’t always enough to keep the skin from being irritated. I used the Boo-Boo Balm on the crack shown in the picture here and was very pleased to note immediate relief from the pain and irritation due to the balm’s moisturizing ingredients. I used it right before I went to bed and by the morning it looked and felt a lot better. It healed faster than these cracks usually do, too.
Toothpaste is something that can be a bit difficult for me when it comes to trying new brands. For that reason, this was the one product in this kit that I was a bit hesitant to try. But, I am happy to say that I really did like the Essence Skin-Saving Toothpaste. Really each of the products was great. Overall, it was good to put aside the skincare products and makeup for a few days and give my skin a rest and reset. I highly recommend it for anyone who wants (or needs) a break from their regular routine or is experiencing some skin irritations from other products.
VMV has written a great article detailing how to do a skin detox that is worth a read if you are interested in giving this skin fast kit a try. It includes some really good tips to help you get the most out of your detox experience.
