Time to Unplug From The Internet With These Relaxing Activities

Autumn In Your Arms
Beauty Brite Disclosure
I’ve found myself constantly on the computer or on my phone, which makes it harder for me to fall asleep at night. In fact, my sleeping pattern has been so horrible that I’m falling asleep while I’m working. So, I decided it was about time I unplug from the Internet. Not all day or anything, but after a certain time I’ll fully log off and do some of these relaxing things.

Relax With a Puzzle

When I unplug from the Internet, I still want to make sure I’m being productive or keeping my mind active and working. Whether your like Sudoku, the Crossword, adult coloring book or a Jigsaw puzzle, they’re a great way to keep your mind going while doing a fun, relaxing activity. My personal favorite is a jigsaw puzzle. I keep buying them each time I go to Target or the used bookstore.
Book and Journal

Write in a Journal

Writing in a daily journal not only helps you get all of your feelings out there on paper, but it also helps relieve a little bit of stress. When I write in my journal, I honestly feel a huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders.

Relax With a Good Book

The best way, and reason, to unplug from the Internet is to read a good book. There’s nothing like sitting back, having a cup of hot chocolate, and relaxing with a great book. I joined our book club at work, and we’re currently reading Practical Magic by Alice Hoffman. The book  If you need the perfect book to read this Halloween, then this is the book. The Owens woman has been blamed for everything for more than two hundred years. Gillian and Sally have had to deal with this horrible fate as both children and adults. It doesn’t help that their elderly aunts are encouraging the whispers of witchery with their house, crowd of black cats, and exotic concoctions. Even though one daughter leaves town, and the other gets married, their special bond will always bring them back together… like magic.

Unplug from the Internet with Autumn In Your Arms

If you’re looking for a little light reading and a romance you’d see on The Hallmark Channel then Autumn in Your Arms by Sherene Funk is a great option! The story is about an advertising agent who has fallen in love with her employer, which means he’s off limits. Like all love stories, the feelings she has for only get stronger. She goes on a mandatory vacation in hopes of clearing her head and meeting someone to help take her mind off Foster Delaney, her employer. She meets a handsome, and witty man, who does a great job of taking her mind off Foster… that is until he shows up at her doorstep. Like with most romantic novels, a bunch of misunderstandings makes things worse for them, but entertaining for us to read.

Both books are fairly easy to get through if you enjoy these types of books. Within two weeks I had both of these finished.

Take On a Project

Believe it or not, some people considering projects a great way to relax. I do too! If there’s a small DIY in your home that needs to get done, take on that. I’m working on a few beauty DIY posts and they definitely need to get finished before it starts snowing. Unplugging from the Internet and taking these exciting projects on are the best way to keep my hands off my phone.

Get Some Exercise

Lastly, get some exercise! Even if it’s a light walk after dinner. You’ll find yourself more energized and you’re doing something that’s good for the mind, body, and soul. It sounds a little cheesy, but after getting some not-so-good results from my blood work, I’m making it a priority to get in some exercise each day. Daily walks is the perfect option! Plus, I use the alone time to clear my head.

Let’s Unplug From The Internet Together

Being online all day isn’t always good for you. It’s something that I’ve heard from multiple doctors, family, and friends. It’s time to unplug at a certain time each night and just relax. It truly does wonders!
