The term K-Beauty has been buzzing around the beauty landscape for a few years now. There are blogs, YouTube channels, and websites dedicated to bringing these unique beauty products and skincare routine beyond the borders of South Korea. Perhaps it’s because these strange, sometimes esoteric, products can truly transform your skin. For this reason, I always jump at the chance to try new K-Beauty Favorites from brands like Laneige and Mamonde.
K-Beauty Favorites – Laneige
Laneige is probably one of the first K-Beauty brands I sampled. I remember receiving some of their amazing products in a subscription box. Since then, I’ve been continually impressed by the inventiveness and effectiveness of their products. What makes the brand a standout is their Water Science technology, which uses different types of water to address skin concerns.
When the brand asked if I would like to try their Mini Pore Blur Perfector and Heating & Cooling Duo, I immediately said yes.
The Mini Pore collection is ideal for reducing pore size and controlling oil. The Blur Perfector features a proprietary blend of mint water and pine needle extract. It is designed to hydrate and purify your skin. I like to use this product as my daily moisturizer.
While I don’t have oily skin, I do have some areas where my pores could be smaller. After incorporating the Perfector into my skincare routine over the past month, I can see a difference in my pore size. They aren’t as large, and my skin doesn’t look as dehydrated.
Another component of the Mini Pore collection is the Heating & Cooling Duo. This duo is designed to target congested pores by reducing sebum and removing impurities. If you’ve used any K-Beauty Favorites before, you’ll always notice the prominence of steps in their products. It’s one of my favorite aspects of their skincare routines.
The first step of the easy-to-use duo involves applying the Heating Gel. As you massage the gel into your problem areas the product begins to warm up. This helps to loosen all the gunk in your pores. It’s also a good hand/arm workout because the process requires you to perform the massage for 10-15 minutes.
After you rinse off the gel, it’s time for step 2, the Clay Mask. Like the Heating Gel, the Clay Mask packaging features a flat, angled applicator. This makes applying the product to your skin easy and less messy. The creamy cacao walnut mask is designed to absorb oil, remove residue, and leave pores looking smaller.
Since I have dry, sensitive skin, this mask was a bit too intense for my skin. I often have issues with clay masks as a result. In order to get the benefits, I usually have to find a milder option or adjust wear time. I will definitely keep using this duo because I definitely could tell my pores were cleaned out, but I will have to reduce the amount of time I leave each product on my skin.
K-Beauty Favorites – Mamonde
Another one of my K-Beauty favorites is Mamonde. What I love most about the brand is all of their skincare and make-up are inspired by the power of flowers. In this case, we are talking about the Narcissus flower, which is known for its ability to store water. As someone with very dry skin, I crave hydration and any product that can help my skin hold on to it.
I was extremely excited to try the Floral Hydro Cream and Eye Gel Cream. After using them for a month, in conjunction with the Laneige Pore Perfector, I’m in love. Both the eye gel and the cream feature a light-weight texture. I use the eye gel both morning and night, and the cream as my nighttime moisturizer. Both feel cooling and comforting to my skin. I always wake-up feel hydrated and refreshed.
Where I’ve noticed the difference the most in around my eyes. The skin looks and feels softer, less bumpy, and less dry thanks to the Mamonde’s Water-Cycle Technology and Micro-Molecular Hyaluronic Acid. The lightweight, gel formula also absorbs quickly so it doesn’t irritate my eyes.
Mamonde was also kind enough to send me their Camellia Flower Lab Essence Sheet Mask and Calendula Flower Lab Essence Sheet Mask. Sheet Masks are one of my K-Beauty Favorites. I’m kind of obsessed with them and can never have enough.
Of course, I adored using both of them because they left my skin feeling extra hydrated. The Camellia mask is designed to refine the complexion and enhance radiance, while the Calendula mask is designed to soothe and comfort. And because they are both made from Eucalyptus tree pulp they adhere beautifully to the skin. I definitely need more of these masks in my collection.
I highly recommend giving these K-Beauty favorites a try. After trying out all of the products from Laneige and Mamonde for last month or so my skin looks and feels happy and hydrated. I even brought them along on a recent trip to New York and Atlanta, and they held up beautifully in both climates and on three different airplane adventures. They also helped my skin weather a recent cold, which usually leaves me looking haggard.
Have you tried any K-Beauty Favorites? What is your favorite mask treatment?
