Handcrafted Candles for Every Occasion

One of the simplest ways to update your décor is with candles. They can transform a room with their warm glow, aromatic throw, or elegant packaging. For me, candles let me express my style and help create the ideal mood, or feel, of every room in my home. This time of year, I’m creating a myriad of sensory experiences with the handcrafted candles of Brooklyn Candle Studio.

This independent studio, located in Brooklyn, New York, was founded by in 2013 by designer Tamara Mayne. Her obsession with aromatherapy and candlemaking extends beyond creating beautifully designed candles. It’s also about being eco-friendly. Each handcrafted candle from Brooklyn Candle Studio is made from 100% soy wax with lead-free cotton wicks primed with vegetable-based wax. In addition, each every candle is vegan and free of preservatives, petroleum, and animal testing.

Handcrafted Candles – Minimalist

While I like to burn candles all year long, my favorite time of year to do so is in the fall. There’s nothing like taking a hot bath or cozying up under a blanket while warm, toasty scents fill the air. You can imagine my excitement when Brooklyn Candle Studio offered me to send me some of their seasonal offerings.

I received Apple Cider and Fern + Moss from their Minimalist Collection. Packaged in simple glass jars, with brushed gold lids, their Minimalist Candles look perfect in every room of the house, from the kitchen to the bedroom.

Apple Cider is the epitome of fall. The natural cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, orange, and cedarwood essential oils blend perfectly with the top notes of crisp apple. There’s nothing artificial about this candle either. It’s has a nice, rich throw, without being too sweet or overpowering.

The best way I can describe Fern + Moss is that of a yummy, outdoorsman. In a good way of course. It’s blend of natural sage, lavender, orange, spruce, and pine are heavenly. I can’t get enough of this candle, even though when I first smelled it, I wasn’t sure it was for me. I thought it would turn my home into a den of cheap cologne. Quite the contrary. It has the perfect, woodsy, musky throw.

Now if both handcrafted candles could magically bring me a hot, man carrying warm mugs full of whiskey infused cider…ah, a girl can dream.

Brooklyn Candle Studio – Pink Disco

In addition to the Minimalist Collection, I was also drawn to the Brooklyn Candle Studio Limited Edition Pink Disco Collection. This unique holiday collection was inspired by cocktail party season, and features three handcrafted candles in Prosecco, Fireplace, and Cypress. Each candle is hand-poured into a frosted, blush colored jar and then stamped with a gold foil accent.

As a fan of sweet libations, I decided to order Prosecco. Nothing says holiday, cocktail party like a flute of Prosecco. Not only is the candle gorgeous to look at, but it also has a lovely throw. With notes of red berries, wild roses and white musk, Prosecco is the ideal candle for starting your evening, or cocktail party, off on the right note.

Candles for Every Occasion

What I like most about these handcrafted candles is the divine scent they leave long after I’ve extinguished their warm glow. It’s always a treat to walk into the room the next day and still smell their throw. I look forward to burning these Brooklyn Candle Studio gems all season long, as well as picking up some more for myself and for gifts.

Taking the Perfect Picture
Beauty Brite Disclosure

These days with so much technology you can take a picture almost anywhere, but one thing I’ve noticed you don’t find printed pictures much anymore. I don’t know about you but I love taking out pictures and going through them or seeing the prints up on the walls decorating the house with beautiful memories.  Now that my mom and my grandparents are gone printed pictures are all I have left.

Give Your Body a Nano Glutathione Boost

Give Your Body a Nano Glutathione Boost

Beauty Brite Disclosure

In addition to eating a healthy diet, taking vitamins can help ensure you’re getting the nutrients you need. As much as I try, I sometimes skip taking my vitamins because I hate swallowing such huge pills. Recently, that all changed when I was asked to try Nanoceutical Solutions Nano Glutathione, as well as their Nano Methyl B12 and Nano Vitamin D3. Unlike traditional vitamins, these come in liquid form for easier swallowing.

What also makes Nanoceutical products so unique, besides being made in the US, is their proprietary manufacturing process. This process keeps the molecules of the vitamins and supplements intact so your body can easily absorb them.

In addition, this inventive technology also creates formulas that are “nano” in size. The smaller the particle, the more effective the vitamin. In other words, when you place the formula under your tongue, it can easily travel through your mucus membranes and into your bloodstream. This means your body is better able to absorb the vital nutrients while also receiving the most health benefit.

Nano Glutathione

So, now that you know a little bit about how the delivery system of these vitamins, let’s talk about my experience with Nano Glutathione, as well as with the other supplements. Since I had never taken Glutathione before, I was curious to learn more about its benefits and why it is called the “master antioxidant”.

Glutathione is essential for every cell of our bodies. This antioxidant is naturally produced in the liver and helps your body rid itself of toxins and fight off cell-damaging free radicals. It also plays a role in metabolism, immune response, and general health. Some research has shown that a lack of Glutathione in the body may lead to an increase in brain diseases, some cancers, autoimmune disease, infertility, problems with vision, pain, cardiovascular disease, and more. (You can find more details on the Nano Glutathione product page, linked above.)

After reading up on Glutathione, I decided it was time to put it to the test. And what better time than over the Thanksgiving holiday, especially when I would be traveling and spending time with my nieces and nephew. As much as I love the little munchkins, as I call them, they not only wear me out but also get me sick. I usually spend days trying to recover or get over whatever new illness they’ve passed on to me. Not this time.

Glutathione dropper

It did take some adjustment getting used to taking a vitamin from a dropper and then holding the liquid under my tongue for 30-60 seconds. However, it was worth it. I was able to keep up with all the holiday activities and travel and managed to survive it all without acquiring a cold or other sickness. I’m actually still noticing the benefits of using the Nano Glutathione beyond the initial two weeks.

Nano D3 and Methyl B12

I’ve also enjoyed using the Glutathione with the Nano Vitamin D3 and Nano Methyl B12. The Vitamin D3 helps improve calcium absorption, which in turn is great for bone health. It’s also great for brain health and your immune system. The Methyl B12 improves brain health, boosts immunity, and helps fight cell damage caused by aging. I can see these three little blue bottles becoming a staple in my health routine for a long time to come.

If you’re interested in trying Nano Glutathione, you’re in luck. Nanoceutical Solutions is offering Beauty Brite readers a discount up to 43% on bottles of Nano Glutathione, plus a free bottle of Methyl B12. For more information on these special discounts visit their Product Discount page.

Celebrating Independence Day

Celebrating Independence Day

How did July get here already? Seems like it was just Christmas. Time really does fly by faster every year. Just wanted to share a bit of the fun I’ve had preparing for the 4th of July. I’ve been picking up little things here and there for weeks as I’ve been in town shopping.

4th of July 2017

I always like to try to find certain things like 4th of July themed paper plates and napkins, red licorice, pinwheels, sparklers, Pop-Its, Hershey chocolate bars, and glow necklaces and bracelets for the kids. But, I also seek out new and interesting things. This year I found a few new treats to delight the kids…. [read more]
