Celebrate the Season with these Special Holiday Wines

Beauty Brite Disclosure

The holiday season is officially here. It’s time to get ready to shop, cook, bake, wrap presents, decorate, entertain, and party hop. And let’s not forget the traffic and crowds, delayed flights, crazy weather, and even crazier family. Is your head spinning yet? Never fear because we’re making celebrating the season easier with our top picks for special holiday wines.

Special Holiday Wines – FitVine

There’s a lot of eating going on during the holidays. It’s a real calorie fest, especially when you include those holiday beverages. Enter FitVine and their selection of guilt-free wines.  With their proprietary extended fermentation process, FitVine creates flavor rich wines low in calories, sulfites, sugar, and carbs. Hence their slogan, “We crush grapes, you crush life.”

The brand was kind enough to send me two of their seasonal offerings; Limited Edition Holiday Red Blend and Prosecco. These special holiday wines are ideal for lovers of red and white, sweet and dry.

The Limited Edition Holiday Red features a blend of decadent black fruits, dark raspberry, and a touch of chocolate. It has a nice full body that isn’t too heavy or overpowering. It also only contains .01 grams of sugar, 120 calories, and 3.5 grams of carbs (based on 5 oz glass).

I find it to be very light and smooth, which is due to its ultra-refined tannins. FitVine’s Holiday Red is one of those unique reds you can drink by itself or pair with a variety of foods. It would make for a nice hostess gift, or as an offering at your holiday party, Thanksgiving, Hanukkah or Christmas table.

Special Holiday Wines_FitVine Prosecco

If you’re looking for something a little sweeter or with some bubbly, you’ll love FitVine’s Prosecco. With its notes of apple, pear, citrus, and tropical flowers, this Prosecco has a light, clean, and refreshing flavor. It also is comes in at 92 calories, .7 grams of sugar and 3.0 grams of carbs (based on 5 oz glass).

As you can see by my picture, I added some strawberries to my flute glass for added flavor and color. You could also add your own berry of choice or perhaps a few slices of pear or apple to make it feel even more festive. Prosecco is a great option to champagne. It works well as a dessert wine, one its own, or as a nice complement to your holiday brunch offerings. Can someone say, Holiday Bellini or Mimosa?

Give Back with Cashmere Black

Next up we have a wine whose name and label caught my eye. Am I the only one who picks wines simply based on the label design, description or even the wine name? In the case of Cline Cellars Cashmere Black, it was hard to resist all of the above. Not to mention, I’m a huge fan of blends.

What truly garnered my attention the most, besides the blend of varietals, was the fact that Cline Cellars is a supporter of important causes. To date, they have donated over $330k to charitable organizations. I was also pleased to learn that this winery has been sustainably farmed and family owned since 1982. It’s nice knowing the bottle I’m enjoying was made without causing damage to the environment where the grapes are grown.

You can truly taste their efforts in Cashmere Black. As far as holiday wines go, Cashmere Black is the ideal. Its full-bodied flavor comes from a blend of Petite Sirah, Zinfandel, Mourvedre, Carignane, and Alicante Bouschet. It’s like drinking a rich mashup of blueberry, plum, violet, cherry, vanilla, and coffee, with an oaky finish. Basically, Cashmere Black is heaven in a glass. It’s the perfect end to a long day of holiday shopping, or the quintessential beverage to enjoy alongside your holiday turkey with all the trimmings.

So when it comes time to choose your special holiday wines, consider FitVine’s Holiday Red Blend and Prosecco, as well as  Cashmere Black from Cline Cellars. They’ll make you want to clink your glasses in celebration of their rich flavor, low calories, and sustainable creation.

What is your favorite holiday drink? Which special holiday wines would you want to try?

Unique Ways To Stay Hydrated

Unique Ways To Stay Hydrated

Beauty Brite Disclosure

I like to stay active with my son by going for walks. This past summer, we went for a walk almost every single day. Now that summer is over and he’s back in school, I’d like to start taking on walks after school. The local park is about a mile away. That walk alone is perfect because that’s two miles of walking right there. If he wants to walk and play around the park, that’s even more fun! I know that he and I need to get out of the house more often, just for space, the fresh air, and the exercise. Walking is the perfect pace for us.

Since we love walking, I am always looking for unique ways to stay hydrated.

Soda Stream pop-alternative device
Beauty Brite Disclosure
I’ll be the first person to admit that I have quite the addiction to pop. Most of the time I do drink caffeine-free diet, but I always have to drink pop. Sometimes even three times a day. Every summer I keep telling myself that I’m going to cut back on the pop and start drinking more water. I’m sure you can guess that each summer it doesn’t happen. After getting the opportunity to test out the SodaStream, a healthier pop-alternative, I thought that this summer may be different.
