Revive and Refresh Your Beauty Routine

Revive and Refresh Your Beauty Routine

Beauty Brite Disclosure

Most people like to start off the new year by making resolutions. I like to start it off by sleeping in and maybe watching football. Yes, I am one of those people who doesn’t believe in New Year’s Resolutions. What I do resolve to do, and practice quite often, is to revive and refresh my beauty routine.

I don’t know if it’s my curious nature or being a blogger, but I’m constantly searching for new things to try. It helps keep my routine fresh.  It also keeps my skin and hair from not getting too used to a product and rendering ineffective. This time I’m doing some reviving and refreshing with Malin+Goetz, DDF, and Conair.

MALIN+GOETZ lime bar soap

Malin+Goetz makes one of my favorite lip balms. I keep a tube of their Mojito balm on my nightstand and reach for it often. I’ve been wanting to try more of their products and was excited to test out the Malin+Goetz Lime Bar Soap.

What I like most about this soap is it’s free of parabens, made from the purest of ingredients, and isn’t tested on animals. I also love the refreshing lime scent and deep foaming action, which helps get my skin nice and clean. It doesn’t irritate my skin or leave it feeling stripped of moisture. Instead, I always feel extremely hydrated and refreshed after my shower.

DDF Ultra-Lite Oil-Free Moisturizing Dew

Next up on the reviving and refreshing of my beauty routine is the DDF Ultra-Lite Oil-Free Moisturizing Dew. Designed for sensitive skin, this light moisturizer is free from oil, fragrance, and dyes. This makes it ideal for all skin types, even acne prone skin. While I don’t have issues with acne I do have issues with sensitivity. The DDF Ultra-Lite Moisturizing does a great job of hydrating my skin with ingredients like aloe vera, grapeseed, and vitamins A, E, and C.

I took the moisturizer with me on a recent trip to Atlanta and it helped my skin retain moisture during the cold and rainy weather I experienced. My makeup applied perfectly and my dry skin didn’t itch at all, which tends to happen during the dry months. Too bad it couldn’t protect me from catching my niece’s Bubonic plague of a cold. I do wish DDF was a cruelty-free brand because their products work so well.

Conair UltraDetangler Medium Nylon Round Brush

Finally, let’s talk about hair styling tools. In my search for the perfect round brush, I’ve tried many over the years. I never can understand how they work so well at the salon and so horribly at home. With the Conair Ultra Detangler Round Brush, I no longer have that problem.

Because it’s designed to work with wet or dry hair, I find it doesn’t pull on my hair or snag it. I’m able to achieve the volume I desire without also turning my hair into a giant frizz ball. The wood handle is sturdy and gives the brush a nice feel in my hand. My only complaint is with the quality of the bristles. The little white knobs at the end come off easily whenever I try to clean the brush. It’s not a huge problem, but I do wonder what this will mean for the longevity of the brush. Guess I will have to wait and see.

  6. I’ve never heard of these product brands before. I love natural health and beauty products. Oh, a round brush…That looks similar to the one that I used to use when I was a teenager. That thing was the best!

  7. I never understand how any of the tools from the hair salon work – I am no good with hair styling at home! I used to have some skill, but perhaps I wore the mom knot too long. Will definitely look into that brush!

  8. one of my 2017 resolutions was to take better care of my skin, thanks for these tips and product reviews!

  9. I so wish I was able to curl my hair with a round brush. I’m bloody useless at it so it always ends up in tangles but whenever I’ve had it done it looks amazing! x

New Years Resolutions are always interesting. I think it’s best to do what fits you best, sleeping in and watching football is a good way to do that. I haven’t heard of these products, anything that’s made for sensitive skin makes me happy though!

  11. I love round brushes but I find that they are heavy. Is this one heavy? I am going to check it out, it is so pretty!

  12. That soap sounds wonderful! I have sensitive skin so I always have to be careful what I use and sometimes it’s tough to find soaps that smell wonderful and aren’t filled with harsh chemicals.

  13. I could always use some new beauty products to try. These sound like they might do the trick for me.

  14. I love your idea of swapping out different products so your body doesn’t get too used to them. That lime soap bar sounds super cool!

I bet a lime bar soap smells divine and will leave you feeling so fresh. I definitely agree about switching out products here and there. I try to do that with shampoo and deodorant.

  16. I think I need to try that round brush! I like mine, but I’ve gravitated to using my wet brush more often for tangling reasons.

  17. I love trying new things its always fun plus I am a blogger that’s what I do :-). I love DFF skin care products they are amazing although a little pricy but they work really good.

  18. It’s nice to be able to try different products so that you’ll know which ones work and which ones aren’t worth purchasing anymore. I don’t like resolutions either, I would rather just freshen up my routine and make it better for the year ahead.

  19. I’ve never used a round hair brush before but so many women I know swear by it. Maybe I’ll give it a go x

  20. I’m always in search of a good brush for my curly hair especially right after a shower. My hair normally knots right up afterwards.

  21. Wow. Love these. Such awesome product recommendations for a regular beauty routine. Absolute must-haves at that!
