My New Year’s Resolutions for 2013

Hello 2013!  I have been ready for 2013 for several weeks now!

Today is my 10th Wedding Anniversary!  A decade of marriage.  I can’t believe my husband and I have been married for 10 years.  I am so glad we found each other.  We have the same values and thoughts about marriage and love.  We just click.

Our son will be 7 years old on January 3rd.

I love having my blog, because I can look back at past posts and what I was thinking a year ago.  As I reflect on last year, I am reminded of My New Year’s Resolutions for 2012.

I recently started a new workout program called Les Mills Combat.  I love it!  It is so different from what I am used to.  It is definitely challenging.  It gave me a break from Turbo Fire.  I was getting bored with Turbo Fire, as I was rotating between pilates, yoga, Turbo Jam and Turbo Fire.  Now that I have a new workout program to focus on, it keeps me motivated.  I love Turbo Fire, but I definitely needed something different.  I also have two Jillian Michael’s DVDs to add to my workout video collection.  I look forward to doing more of her workouts.

Eat Healthy
I am still a *work in progress* with this one.  There are times when we don’t always have the time or money to go to the grocery store, let alone buy healthy foods.  I do try to eat healthy as often as I can.

Okay, so I didn’t really follow through with this one.  I stopped going after a few months.  I do not like the idea of having student loans after graduating.  There is no guarantee that I will even find a job.

Instead, I am taking an online course in Medical Administrative Assisting through a reputable company.  My goal is to get certified after I finish the course and then find employment to help support our family.

Save Money
I am always trying to save money.  I have been making my own laundry soap for several years now.  It works great and our clothes come out clean.  It’s easy, frugal, and safe for the environment.  I also use coupons to save on non-food items that I buy from Walgreens.  We live about 2 blocks from Walgreens, so I just walk there.  I am always finding ways to save money, use coupons and learn how to be frugal.

  1. Happy Anniversary!! And congratulations on successfully meeting a lot of your goals for 2012. Most of us tend to fizzle out after the first few weeks…I know I do. I need to focus on one goal at a time or it becomes to overwhelming.

  2. Congratulations on the anniversary! It is so difficult to find someone that we mesh with so well and it is great you were able to do it! Resolutions are so hard to keep! The exercise video sounds interesting. Happy New Year!

  4. Happy Anniversary! That is great. Time does go fast and sometimes we wonder where it went. I made some New Year’s Resolutions too and some of them I did not do. That is okay because I did the most important one which is I stuck to my exercise routine all year!

I have all of the same goals as you do, except for the college part. I have such a hard time with “resolutions” though. I have to do all of these things in time, and I can’t put pressure on myself to fix it all beginning January 1. Thanks for sharing with us!

  16. Happy Anniversary and continued success both professionally and personally this year!
