Sumer is quickly approaching and it’s time to bust out the best of the best. The products that are going to step up and last during the hot, summer months. I love being able to test new beauty products, but how many of them can really handle a Chicago summer heatwave? I’ve been testing out a few products from Cherry Blooms to see how they could potential hold up.
I tested out three products: Fiber Brows, Fiber Lash, and Vinyl Liner. Products that no matter how hot it is, I’m always going to want to wear. So how did these hold up?
First up we have the Mineral Fiber Brows ($49) in the shade Mocha, which is meant for blonde to light brown hair. Unfortunately, this is not my shade. I have dark brown hair so this powder was too light. I personally prefer a little darker brow. I still tested it out to see how it wore. The packaging and applicator looks exactly like the Maybelline Color Elixir Lip Lacquer. The Fiber Brows are a powder that you would apply with the included stencils to help create the perfect brows. I like the stencils, but if you’re used to doing brows you may not need them. There’s definitely a learning curve since this is a powder. It’s really nice, and when done correctly it does look natural. It’s not waterproof, but it did hold up really well. I went to the gym a couple times after work and they held up.
Eyeliners are one of those products that I enjoy testing out, but I don’t always go out of my way to purchase. I don’t fret if I’m out liner. The big claim on the Vinyl Liner ($24.95), in the shade black, is that it’s Extremely Waterproof. Not just waterproof, but EXTREMELY. This liner does need a good 30 seconds to dry, otherwise, it could end up on your eyelids. The box does state NOT to apply it to your waterline. I decided to listen to the directions and just use it as directed. The packaging is really nice and the felt tip is pretty thin. The liner is crazy pigmented and I didn’t experience any bleeding after applying it. It does give you a somewhat thick line right away, at least thicker than what I’m used to, but it’s still easy to work with. I think even beginners could use this without having a hard time. As for the waterproof part? It’s good. Like with the Fiber Brows, it lasted through my workout, a hot day outside in 80-degree weather, and sitting my car for a while without the air on.
Lastly is the Fiber Lash ($49). This claims to be an “extension fibers that leave others behind”. The two-piece kit will give you the effect of extensions without the drawbacks. The quality beeswax is going to hydrate the lashes while the fibers add 3D volume. According to the box, it’s going to amplify your lashes by 600% and there won’t be any flaking. These are major claims! When it comes to products I always read the ingredients to make sure I can use it. Unfortunately, there was something in this that I’m allergic to and it made my eyes burn. Nothing in the ingredients list caught my eye that I have to stay away from so I really don’t know what did it. This is disappointing because I’ve wanted to try something like this for quite some time. A couple other brands released products similar and they just didn’t work so I wanted to see if this did. If you’re on the fence, I say go for it! I love trying mascara-type products and if this gives the look of extensions without actually having them, then that’s awesome!
Overall, I’m really impressed with what I’ve tried out and definitely think they’re worth getting. I’m absolutely loving the eyeliner, and it’s going directly into my makeup bag. The Brow Fibers are growing on me, it’s just something different than what I’m used. I love being able to step outside my comfort zone and try new beauty products.
