It’s that time of the year where brands are releasing their newest products and collections. Rimmel London recently released a foundation and concealer, so of course, I was excited to try them!
I’ve never really had the chance to try a lot from the brand, but I know a lot of bloggers rave about their products. With the constant sales and coupons, it’s definitely a brand that’s worth keeping an eye on.
Lasting Finish 25 Hour Breathable Long Wear Foundation
The foundation from Rimmel London is the Lasting Finish 25 Hour Breathable Long Wear Foundation. Pricing will vary and it is available anywhere Rimmel London products are sold, such as CVS and Target.
I’m not going to really comment on 25-hour wear since I never wear foundation, or any makeup, for that long of a period. One of the things I notice with the foundation is that I feel like my skin isn’t able to breathe, and when that happens my face starts to itch.
The coverage provided by the product is really nice. I’d say I applied it to about a medium level of coverage, though you may be able to build it up to get a fuller coverage. I didn’t try that since I don’t like the look or feel of a full coverage application. Keep in mind, this does oxidize, so you may need to choose a shade lighter than you think you need since it’ll set a little darker.
The applicator is not my personal favorite. It’s one of those large doe foot applicators, which seems to be a popular option for a lot of makeup brands. I don’t like it for hygienic reasons, but as long as I get enough product in one scoop, then I’m good.
Lasting Finish 25 Hour Breathable Concealer
The Rimmel London Lasting Finish 25 Hour Breathable Concealer comes in .23 fl oz squeeze tube, pricing will vary and is available anywhere Rimmel products are sold, such as CVS and Target. I have the shade 100 fair, which is a little light, but the next shade up is too dark.
This product has a little sponge at the top of the tube that serves as the applicator. I’m not a fan of the applicator since you can’t really clean it and keep it sanitary. This is just a personal preference. If the product is great then it’s definitely going to be worth it.
This is a light coverage concealer, which I think people will either love or hate. I don’t have a lot of blemishes or under eye concerns, so having a light coverage is actually perfect for me. My under eye area is extremely dry, and without the proper eye cream, this concealer did crease on me quite a bit. I think if that area wasn’t so dry, this wouldn’t have happened.
Both products are nice and at the price point are worth trying out. But keep in mind your skin type, because I have a feeling that this combination may not work with some, especially the concealer if your under eye area is crazy dry like mine.
If your store has a great return policy, then definitely check it out. You never know, it could become your next must-have foundation routine. You can find more information about Rimmel London products on the company website, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
