These days, I find it so difficult to stay focused! I have to battle between social media, emails, cleaning around the house and anything else I can think of. With that, I really have to prepare myself each day.
As a stay at home mom, I work from home too. My workspace is in our living room. I do all of my work from my laptop. I love that I can set up my home office where I want to be comfortable. I do try to separate my time between work and home. I do my work when my son is at school. I like getting my work done so that I have the rest of the day to do whatever I want!
Here are my tips on how I stay focused:
1. To Do Lists
I personally make a “to do” list each day and I am always adding to it. I may think of something I have to do and add it for the next day. Lists help remind me of what I need to do.
2. Essential Oils
I love my diffuser! I use it as much as I can. I love using different scents to either help calm my active son to get him ready for bed or even to help prevent a meltdown. I also love using the diffuser when we are sick. Either way, using a diffuser is a natural way to help and protect my family.
I also love using peppermint oil in my diffuser to help with my concentration. I think it helps me stay focused on the tasks!
3. Set Goals
I love setting small goals for myself with my lists. When I set goals and reach them, I feel so accomplished! It definitely helps boost my ego!
It always helps to reward yourself. For me, I like to get my work done and then I reward myself with catching up on my shows on Hulu and Netflix! I tend to watch my shows online because we do not have DVR. It is easier for me to watch online since it fits with my schedule.
With social media being my main distraction, I really have to focus on my work first. Every once in awhile, I do like to take a break and check social media.
