Beauty Brite Disclosure

I don’t know about you but I’m ready for some bright, glittery, colorful spring nails.  Give me a rainbow of beautiful shades for my fingers and toes. And if they happen to be vegan, 7-free, and have a portion of their proceeds go to charity, all the better.

Curious to find out what polish brand I’m talking about?  It’s Austin, Texas-based, Indie brand, Cute Nail Studio. Voted best in Austin, this local nail studio recently launched a collection featuring 17 nail polishes. Not only are the polishes colorful, but they also offer up a nod to obscure and popular culture, with names like “Laura Palmer,” and “You Can’t Do That on Television”.

How can you not love a nail polish brand that references both Twin Peaks and a teen sketch comedy show where saying, “I don’t know” would get your slimed?

Cream & Glitter Spring Nails

Not that I’ve thoroughly gushed about the polish names, let’s talk about the polish itself.  First, I’m really impressed by Cute Nail Studio’s decision to make their polishes vegan and 7-free. Personally, I prefer using products free of toxic chemicals and animal by-products.

Additionally, Cute Nail Studio is donating 10% of their profits to support Out Youth, an Austin-based nonprofit that supports LBGTQIA+ young adults. I like knowing the brands I support are about more than profits, they’re also purposeful in their products and actions.

Spring Nails - Cute Polish Studio

Cute Nail Studio was kind enough to send me four of their polishes, two cream, and two glitter.

  • Sparkle Pony – a white space glitter polish inspired by this quote, “Because sometimes you’re wildly unprepared, even if you do look beautiful”
  • Felix Moon – a rich pink polish named after the shop owner’s daughter
  • Tigermilk – a light orange polish inspired by Belle and Sebastian
  • All is Full of Love – a glitter polish with a peach undertone inspired by Bjork

I think all four colors are perfect for creating fun spring nails. They’re very flattering and would work well on your fingers on toes. Not to mention, the polish bottles remind me of a melting popsicle. Am I the only one who sees this?

Giving myself an at-home mani/pedi is one of my favorite ways to relax. Painting my nails in shades of orange and white space glitter was a nice treat. I did do a 7-day wear test to see how they would perform, paired with the Zoya Anchor and Amor base and topcoat. (I always were a base and top coat whenever I paint my nails.)

I was extremely impressed with their longevity, especially since I wash my hands a lot. All four colors stayed vibrant over the seven days and I only experienced minor chipping. I can’t wait to test them out on my toes now that open-toed shoes and sandals are back in my rotation. Or to try out more of the colors in the collection.

Tips for making your spring nails last longer: Always wear a good base and top coat, and re-apply the top coat every couple of days. Use gloves when washing the dishes. Hot water can make your nails soft and cause your polish to wear faster.

  1. I remember the days (long past) when I always had my nails done. Since becoming a mom, that’s kind of been the last thing on my list. I’ve made it a resolution this year to take more time for myself and getting may nails done and finding great new polishes is a good place to start. Thanks for the reminder in your “Cute” post!
