Give yourself some Protection from the Sun

One of the best things that you can do to protect yourself from the sun is to wear high-quality sunscreen. When you spend a lot of time in the sun, this can lead to wrinkles, age spots, and other skin related problems. You may even find that your risk of skin cancer increases as well, and this is the last thing that you want.

If you want to give yourself some additional skin protection then it helps to use a sunscreen that is at least SPF 15. You need to make sure that you apply it every two hours and that you are generous with it too. If you are going swimming or if you have been sweating, then you may need to apply it even more. Seeking shade is also very important.

If you go on holiday, then try and stay out of the sun between the hours of 10am and 4pm. This is when the sun’s rays are the strongest, so make sure that you keep that in mind if you are out in the open.

Lastly, you need to make sure that you wear protective clothing as much as possible. Cover your skin with a long-sleeved shirt, long pants and a hat that is well-brimmed.

Laundry additives might also give you an extra layer of UV protection, not to mention that there’s also sun-protective clothing out there that can also stop UV rays.

Treat your Skin Gently

Daily cleansing and even shaving will take its toll on your skin eventually. If you want to keep it gentle, then limit the amount of time you spend in the bath. Hot water and long showers will remove some of the oils in your skin. You might also want to avoid strong soap as well. Mild cleansers are the way to go if you want to stop your skin from getting too dried out, so although they might not be as fun to use, they are certainly worth the investment.  If you want to be pampered then why not try and pay a visit to a spa? That way you can get skin treatments that will help you to feel way better about yourself in general.

Be Careful when Shaving

If you want to really protect your skin and stop it from becoming irritated then make sure that you apply shaving foam, lotion or even gel before you shave. If you want to have the closest shave, then use a razor that is sharp and clean. It’s also beneficial for you to shave in the direction that the hair grows, rather than going against it. After you have done this, blot your skin dry with a towel so that you keep some moisture on your skin. Be sure to use a moisturizer that is suitable to your skin type. If you don’t then you may find that it actually dries your skin out more than it should and this is the last thing that you need.

Healthy Diet

A healthy diet can really help you to feel and look your best. If you want to help yourself then you need to eat plenty of fruit and you also need to focus on eating vegetables as much as possible. This will help you to clear up your acne and it will also help you to lower the amount of unhealthy fat that you eat. It’s best to avoid processed or refined foods at all costs. If not, then you may find that you have way more breakouts and this is the last thing that you need when you are trying to clear up your skin.

Manage Stress

Stress that cannot be controlled can easily make your skin feel more sensitive. You may also find that you suffer from way more acne breakouts as a result too. If you want to encourage healthy skin and even a healthy state of mind, then you need to scale back your to-do list and you also need to make time for yourself too. If you don’t then you may find that you quickly become overwhelmed.
