Cool, Cute, And Entertaining Gifts For Kids

Last year, I went to my son’s family picnic event that was hosted by the special education classes, held at the end of the year. It was so nice to talk to his teachers and assistants that help out in his classroom. After that, I told myself I would make more of an effort to get involved with his class. I am going to chaperone as many of his field trips as I can. I haven’t decided if I’m going to volunteer in his classroom, I’m not sure what how he’d feel about seeing me at school! I also want to help in any of their community activities that his class participates in. This year, we gathered a few cool, cute, and entertaining gifts for kids!

I don’t keep toys in the house just because my son will destroy them or they will be lost, discarded, or worse. Instead, any toys, books, and such that I receive, I’ve been saving to donate to his classroom. For instance,I was sent two different children’s books which I plan on donating to his classroom!  I also have a handful of beauty products that are brand new that I’m going to give to his teachers. I prefer to share anything extra that I receive!

Fall has started and Halloween is upon us! I haven’t decorated a single thing, which is shocking. My little Miss has been reminding me almost daily about her school party that is coming up. Usually I pack little treat bags for each of the kids and include candy and stickers. This year I want to provide them with sugar-free treats, providing instead a little more fuel for their imagination.

My Daughter’s Favorite Monthly Box Subscription My Daughter’s Favorite Monthly Box Subscription

Both of my daughters are absolutely smitten with all things that come from Japanese culture. They love it all — reading manga, anime, clothing, candy and food, plush toys, and household goods like bowls and chopsticks.

My younger daughter, in her mid teens, is also pretty into Japanese and Korean music. I do not pretend to know anything about this music genre, but I love that she loves it. Anytime these music groups are featured on television I always make sure she knows so that we can watch it together.

Since I know very little about Japanese culture, I love that monthly box subscriptions exist. You can find such a service for a wide variety of interests. Personally, I love yarn. I’m an avid knitter and crocheter. So, I love trying out new monthly yarn clubs.

Japan Crate monthly subscription boxes are a great way to learn about all things Japanese. They offer several monthly box options with unique themes to choose from.

October is almost here and I can already hear, Tim Burton’s “This Is Halloween” lyrics echoing throughout my home. These lyrics are a telltale sign I need to get on track for prepping for this year’s Halloween fun. With multiple children ranging in age groups, finding the perfect ideas for entertaining the crowd can be a little tricky. This year, I have come up with some new ideas for this season and I think you’ll like them too!

I have been on the hunt for new items that may appeal to my children for a while now. Educationally and play based. Finding toys that also appeal to my youngest daughters sensory seeking tendencies is even better. She’s a take something for what it’s worth and leave the rest behind type of child. I am ecstatic to say, we have finally found a bug that appeals to her interests perfectly.

That’s right, a BUG! A HEXBUG nano junior that is, but a bug nevertheless.

Several nights a week my husband works overtime on night shift which leads this mama bear to get all of the kids fed, bathed, and entertained until bedtime. Mom guilt sets in and while it is so EASY to grab the tablet or turn on a movie, I usually like filling this time with books that I can easily tie a craft in with or with other independent activities that get my kid’s brains running but their bodies in one place. Feed thir brains and moms sanity all in one. An occupied child means I can get the house picked up so when everyone is fast asleep in bed, I can sit back and RELAX. I know, that sounds horrible but I enjoy a few hours of solitude after the kids have gone to bed to catch up on my TV shows or even read a book. We Craft Box has made my last minute evening task, rainy day activity, and even a moment of silence possible.

Sticking to the Basics with Toddler Fun

Sticking to the Basics with Toddler Fun

As a mom of 4, I am so very guilty of over thinking on what activities would be “fun” for my toddlers and I am sure I am not the only one who feels this way. I find myself constantly searching the internet for toddler fun and fun toddler activities in my area or pinning a million posts on my Pinterest account that I know, I probably won’t ever go back and look at. It’s a shame truly because the ideas are amazing but the motivation to round up all of the supplies necessary just isn’t there to complete such an elaborate task. Not to mention toddlers attention span lasts a lot less than the time it takes to round up and prepare for some activities but I desperately try to eliminate screen time as much as I can in our technology-filled world. That’s not to say they don’t get any screen time because they do, but I try to feed their minds in others ways as well. That is why I took a step back and reevaluated what else I could do that would be fun for toddlers and the answer is, sticking to the basics! Crayons, markers, stickers, and paper. It really is that simple.

My daughter is really hard to buy for. Whether it’s Christmas, her birthday, or the Easter Bunny is planning a surprise; I have the hardest time trying to find her a gift that has quality and meaning. She’s an only child and my parent’s first grandchild to say she is spoiled is quite the understatement. Her playroom is PACKED to the brim with baby dolls, plushies, and Barbies. I’m getting the search started for Christmas presents from Santa and this year I wanted something meaningful that would last for several years and she would not grow out of.
