Explore Your Artsy and Adventurous Side Indoors

When schools first closed, I realized I needed to keep up with school lessons and I wanted us to stay somewhat active. I bought a few art supplies and balls for us to play with! I made a few lessons for him to do each day and even incorporated little games where we tossed a ball to each other. Since we’ve been home for months, I’ve been adding games and trying to stay motivated with everything. We gathered items to explore your artsy and adventurous side indoors!

Calling all Pokemon Trainers

Calling all Pokemon Trainers
Beauty Brite Disclosure

I remember as a kid when Pokémon first came out and hit the scene. It was a massive hit and everyone wanted to be a trainer just like Ash and his trusty sidekick Pikachu. Little did I grasp that twenty years later the Pokémon crazy would still be going just as strong.

Pokémon Adventures!

Pokemon Trainer

I was 9 when the craze hit the US. We would spend recess at school trading cards, talking about our favorite characters what our favorite Pokémon was ( mine are Bulbasaur and Togepi ). Which actually ended up causing the school to ban bringing the cards to school because they caused so much of a distraction. One of my very first movies seen in a theater was the original Pokémon movie. I remember my dad actually picked me up early from school to go see it. That in itself is a memory I cherish dearly since my dad is no longer alive.

I was so excited when my oldest daughter first asked me “mom” have you ever heard of Pokémon? Being the nerd I am, I was so proud that, that gene got passed down. It’s a great show and franchise to be able to share. One of our favorite things to do is go to the park and play Pokemon Go. Not only has it brought us closer as a family but it gets the kids active and moving. Plus who doesn’t love trying to catch your very on Squirtle, or Charmander?

Pikachu Walkie Takies

Now having four kids my house is full of fun Pokémon toys all the time. From a handmade Ash costume to tons of plushies, trading cards, and even some really fun Pokémon Pikachu Walkie-talkies! With Pikachu right by your side, these walkie-talkies can reach long distances and are static-free. Perfect for those outside adventuring activities.

Walkie talkies

In today’s day and age it’s really refreshing to be able to have something like Pokémon to be able to share with my kids. It’s so fun to be able to look back on a simpler day and time. To see the joy on my kid’s faces when they are telling me all about their favorite Pokemon or something they caught while playing one of the games. In my opinion, that’s so much of what this world needs these days are to go back and take a breath and look with the eyes of a child and find joy in the little things.

Whose your favorite Pokémon?

Toys That Teach

Before, we didn’t have any toys because he would destroy them, throw them down the toilet, or throw them away! However, they use board games in his therapy! I found some cool toys that are perfect for children with Autism and beyond! Let’s take a look at toys that teach!

ABA Therapy

I am so thankful I found an ABA Therapy company as it was a very difficult journey. I had to find a company that had openings, took our insurance, and served his age group! I found this to be very difficult. I called and emailed several companies over a period of a few years. There were times when I got discouraged because I always received a “no.â€Â

I once tried being a foster dog mom. It was my very first time and looking back, it wasn’t a good fit overall. A Fun New Easter Tradition

When Easter comes around, my kids love 2 things; Easter egg hunts & decorating eggs. A day before Easter, I pull out all the egg decorating kits, cover my kitchen table with newspaper, and my kids get decorating. As a family we have so much fun. As a momma who is forever cleaning, I can only eyeball the mess. Yet the smiles & goofy fun they always seem to have, makes this activity a keeper & part of family tradition.

As with any tradition, small tweaks always make them more interesting & fun each year. From adding new ornaments to your Christmas tree or setting up new spooky decorations for Halloween, why not a new & fun addition to Easter?

Children have the largest imaginations I have possibly ever seen. Children see endless potential with simple tools. As a mom of four, I try to provide my kids with the opportunity to put their imagination to use as much as possible. Sometimes simplicity is best. Breaking out the basics encourages the most creative play. This popular brand is one I turn to frequently when it comes to providing open, creative play and I think you’ll agree that they are the best too.

Cool, Cute, And Entertaining Gifts For Kids

Last year, I went to my son’s family picnic event that was hosted by the special education classes, held at the end of the year. It was so nice to talk to his teachers and assistants that help out in his classroom. After that, I told myself I would make more of an effort to get involved with his class. I am going to chaperone as many of his field trips as I can. I haven’t decided if I’m going to volunteer in his classroom, I’m not sure what how he’d feel about seeing me at school! I also want to help in any of their community activities that his class participates in. This year, we gathered a few cool, cute, and entertaining gifts for kids!

I don’t keep toys in the house just because my son will destroy them or they will be lost, discarded, or worse. Instead, any toys, books, and such that I receive, I’ve been saving to donate to his classroom. For instance,I was sent two different children’s books which I plan on donating to his classroom!  I also have a handful of beauty products that are brand new that I’m going to give to his teachers. I prefer to share anything extra that I receive!
