I love going to the spa especially in the winter months! It seems not only that the weather takes a toll on my skin, it also takes a toll on my mood! Every time I go into a spa the first thing I normally notice is the smell as soon as I walk in. It is always so calming and soothing and takes me away from my everyday stresses immediately.
Since our recent move, I’ve been doing my best to rebuild our aromatherapy supplies. I like to keep an oil diffuser in each room we spend time in. Living healthy with aromatherapy is possible! I keep one going just to keep our air clean and fresh. I also like to use essential oils to keep my son from getting sick or reduce his symptoms. He does not take medicine, so I rely on aromatherapy.
What makes aromatherapy so amazing is that it is natural, effective, and so easy to use.
As a mom, it is important to keep my son healthy so he can attend school. In years past, he has missed so much school from getting sick! I also do my best to stay healthy. If I am sick, I am unable to care for my son. With his Autism, I choose aromatherapy. How are you staying healthy?
I prefer using natural ways to staying healthy in our home. Have you ever tried using an oil diffuser?
With winter weather right around the corner, it makes me think of ways that we can stay cozy and warm as the cold settles in for a stay. When it’s nasty outside, some people can also find themselves falling into what I call the “winter funk.” This is when you feel confined, your mood can sometimes be depressed, and it is hard to find the motivation to do things and find joy in life.
When the weather turns cold and nasty and the days start to get shorter I love nothing better than curling up on the couch under a warm afghan, sometimes with the fireplace glowing and emanating warmth throughout the main area of the house. I have a variety of personal pleasures that I like to engage in to occupy my mind and provide entertainment and contentment when it’s not nice enough to be outdoors.
There are many ways to stay warm, but here are a few of my faves…. [read more]
When we moved this past summer, we did a huge purge of most of our things. Many of the things we discarded were our assortment of natural hair and skincare products. The only beauty products I packed were the items that were unopened. In other words, I’ve been using name brand products for my hair.

If you’re just looking to enhance your overall well-being, essential oils are great for that too! Oils can be a great mood-booster, especially in the dull and bleak months of winter…. [read more]
There are many ways to soothe one’s soul, to feed a need inside (identified or not) to promote personal wellness, relaxation, exhilaration, peace … whatever it is that you need to make you feel complete. I have many ways to feed my soul — writing, reading, crochet, cooking and baking, among others.
The one thing that I have yet to explore in any great depth is scent when it comes to personal wellness. I dabble a bit, and by that I mean with candles and room sprays, mostly. Diffusers and essential oils are a new world for me but I’m learning a lot from Gurunanda®, artnaturals, and EO® Products about how to use them in everyday life. If you’re interested in this topic but as clueless as I am, let’s take a look at it together and see what it’s all about…. [read more]
There are some ingredients and scents that irritate certain people’s nostrils–and, when involved in skincare products or lotions, those pungent or sickly-sweet scents can often get all the more overpowering. Meet Tree Hut’s Moroccan Rose Collection–one of the only skincare collections that I’ve ever found to smell both subtle and (no exaggeration) delicious!
In June, my son and I started walking. I wanted the exercise and it gave us a chance to get some fresh air. The air was still cool in the morning, so we were able to walk two miles before 10am or 11am. As the weather got hotter, I found myself not wanting to even step outside.
We just got through a huge move. My family and I relocated out of state after living in North Carolina for almost 10 years. With our new home, I am slowly getting settled in, unpacked and everything organized. I am also getting back into my fitness and focus on my health.
