Beauty Brite Disclosure

If you’re wondering whether you are really ready to have a baby, you should grab a copy of How To Have A Baby And Not Lose Your Shit, by Kirsty Smith (published by Bennion Kearney). It’s funny, yes, but more importantly it sends the message that when it comes to having and raising kids, don’t sweat the small stuff. You don’t have to be the perfect parent, you don’t have to have the perfect child, heck you don’t even have to have the perfect life… the best way to be a good mom is to just roll with the punches and expect the unexpected. And above all, just remain as calm as possible; both you and your child will make it through and as long as you love him (or her) and have their best interest at heart everything will turn out okay in the end. The best approach to parenthood I can advise a new parent to take is to view it as comedic fodder for future recall, because, oh you will! You will recall it, the stories will be standard holiday time storytelling fare for years to come!

End to an Era with Parenthood

I started watching Parenthood when it first premiered six years ago. Parenthood was easy to relate to because of Max. As any Parenthood fan knows, Max has Asperbers Syndrome. Our son has Autism and I think Parenthood was the first show to feature a character with Autism on television.

Do your parents know what a selfie is?

When I went back home a few weeks ago for my brother’s funeral, it gave me a chance to reconnect with my parents. As the prepaid cheap funeral plan was active, my parents did not have to worry much about the funeral plans, which gave me some personal time with them. My parents also had the chance to see Kyle for the first time in 7 ½ years. It was really nice to see my parents and my extended family. It really made me miss my family altogether. It has pushed me to want to move back home again. I miss my home state of California.
