The Perfect Time To Focus On Self-Care

Now is the perfect time to focus on self-care! We are all stuck at home, why not avoid stress and focus on pampering ourselves! A few weeks ago, I realized I was getting stressed out and overwhelmed. I was following the news as much as possible, watching the news conferences from our governor and trying to stay updated. Then I took a step back from everything. It was time to focus on my own happiness.

I was also feeling stressed out from not being able to find toilet paper. I kept kicking myself because I missed out a few times on buying toilet paper at the store and online. Finally, a few weeks ago, I found toilet paper and bought as much as I could with gift cards! Then, a few days later, I found liquid hand soap and bought a total of 3 bottles. Now that I am stocked up, I don’t feel much happier!

Beauty Brite Disclosure

The weekend is upon us and I would be lying if I said I wasn’t counting down for Saturday. Saturdays are the day in which I can relax from the weekday hustle and recollect myself. I try to make time on Saturdays where I “treat” myself to some much needed TLC and self-care. This treat can be a sweet treat I have seen around or even a new skincare product. This week, I am sharing with you some of my absolute favorite items and I think you’ll be impressed with them too!

Self-Care Ideas For Busy Moms

In order to be the best mom that you can be, you need to think about how you can take care of yourself and find the time to do so. There are phrases like ‘you can’t pour from an empty cup’ and it really can be true when it comes to being a parent; it is near impossible to look after others when you are running on empty. We can feel lethargic and lacking in energy, as well as feeling mentally drained from time to time. So it is really important to make sure that we are doing all we can to look after ourselves as well as our children. Make some intentional choices about your health and well-being and it will make a difference.

So if you are looking to live life with more of a self-care mindset, then here are some of the things that you should be focusing on each day, so that you are able to make yourself much more of a priority.

Moms: Self-Care Is Important too

Moms Self-Care Is Important too

Beauty Brite Disclosure

I am that type of mom who never takes a moment for herself. My to-do list is a mile long and I don’t know if I will ever meet the end of it. Self-care is certainly not on that list anywhere. Somedays feel like they are never going to end. Add 4 toddlers into the mix and it is a daunting task to accomplish even the simplest of things. As moms, we forget to tend to our self-care needs. You know the needs that extend beyond a quick shower, the leftovers our children didn’t eat from their lunch plate, and our for the third time reheated cup of coffee.

Another issue with being the Mom is that in every single aspect we put ourselves last. We forget about ourselves and how crucial self-care can be when it comes to those around and especially when it comes to spending money on ourselves. If you are anything at all like me, it takes 5 seconds to convince myself that it is perfectly acceptable to spend $10 on my children’s baby wash but it takes me days to convince myself that it is acceptable to spend $5 on my own body wash. I have the money. I am not lacking, I just prefer to save where ever I can which means cutting corners on the items I actually need or want. Clearance Rack? That’s me. Mega Sales Event? You’ll find me there and probably with a coupon if possible. 7th Heaven, however, makes it possible to treat yourself to a little bit of luxury while on the go AND without spending a lot of money in the process.

Self-Care Is Totally Worth Your Time

Self-Care Is Totally Worth Your Time--Shir Organics-NaturaBrasil-Nature Lab Tokyo

Beauty Brite Disclosure

Personal care is important, not because it’s trendy but because we all are worth caring for, all of the time. In the hustle and bustle of daily life with all the exterior demands on our time and attention that being a woman entails it can be very easy to forget that. We often put everything and everyone else above ourselves in terms of importance, don’t we? Especially women, who care for everyone else — their parents, spouses, children, and friends — before giving their own needs more than a passing thought.

I’m certainly guilty of this passive and unthinking form of self-neglect at times. I mean, I apply sunscreen if I’m going to be out in the sun for long enough that I might get a sunburn. I apply lotion to my hands and arms pretty regularly. Though that’s mostly because my hands can get pretty rough from constantly washing them as I go through the average day during cleaning, meal prep, and caring for our various animals. I can’t even remember the last time I treated myself to something as simple as a hair cut, it’s probably been a year or more I’m sure.

There are a lot of different kinds of personal care products on the market to choose from. Products that address areas from skin care to hair care, internal health to physical fitness. Some are clearly better than others, but a large majority of what’s available is all very good and it can be a difficult task to weed through all of the advertising and information to make a choice about which brands to use.

The easiest area of personal care to address, I think, is taking care of one’s exterior, what others see when they look at us. That being our skin and hair. I mean, we all bathe and at least occasionally use nourishing bath products and perhaps apply body lotion afterward. These areas are where I’ve tried quite a few different products to support skin and hair care.

So, today I will be sharing the three most recent brands that I’ve been using and my thoughts on them. Since there are so many brands to choose from, it’s sometimes fun to share those that you might not find on the shelves of every pharmacy or mass merchandise retailer. Don’t you think?

And since I especially like trying new natural/organic products for personal care those will be what I share with you today. Brands you may not have heard of before like NaturaBrasil, Shira Esthetics, and NatureLab Tokyo. I hope you enjoy your introduction to these brands of skin and hair care and that you put yourself first and decide to try one (or more) of them for yourself. You deserve it! [read more]

Aging happens to us all, but there’s no reason you can’t avoid it as long as you possibly can. There are plenty of things that you can do to keep looking and feeling youthful, energized, and more vibrant for longer. Here’s how you can keep feeling young as long as possible.

Top Tips To Stay Younger For Longer

Protect Yourself From The Sun

f you’re going to be outside, you need to wear a sunscreen with an SPF rating of at least 30, even when it isn’t hot and sunny outside. Make sure that the SPF you wear is broad-spectrum. This means it protects you from both UVA and UVB rays. No matter what the weather is like outside, there are always UV rays. UV damages your skin, so you need protection from it. You should put on more sunscreen every few hours that you are outside so your skin remains safe.

Travel Mini Review

I recently decided to go solely cruelty-free and clean. I don’t believe in animal testing, there’s no need for it, and I will not use brands that still do this. This kit is nice. It truly is. I have crazy sensitive skin, so of course, I was a bit nervous to try everything. My skin reacted nicely. They don’t take up a lot of space on my bathroom skink, you don’t need to use a ton of products, and there are no horrible scents.

This kit is an excellent option if you’re looking to try a new brand, you want to go cruelty-free, or you are doing some traveling soon and want travel-friendly products. While I do like these products and didn’t have any issues, I’d recommend testing them out before you travel. It’s always best to know a product works for you before heading out on vacation.

Overall Thoughts

The price might seem high for a travel kit, but the quality is marvelous and well worth it. I’m always looking for great deals and ways to save money, but when it comes to skincare, I’ll spend the money if it’s amazing. And it is.
