Natural Essentials Hair Care

Beauty Brite Disclosure

I have long hair.  I prefer my hair short; however, I am only able to have my hair cut about once a year or less.  With my long hair, I do have to care for my hair as much as I can.  I love when my hair is soft and most of all cooperative.  When I was asked to review the Natural Essentials Hair Care products, I quickly agreed!  I received four products to review.

Skin 2 Skin Care - Holistic Skin Care For Him And Her
Beauty Brite Disclosure

As I approach middle age, skin care seems to be on my mind more and more. I don’t suffer from rashes, reddened areas, acne or overly oily skin. But, I have definitely noticed that it looks duller, is drier, and a little less elastic around my eyes. Also, thanks to a few sunburns back in the day, I do have some uneven skin tone to manage.

Increasingly I am paying attention to skin care regimens that offer a more holistic, natural approach to their product line ingredients and more eco-friendly manufacturing practices. I find it interesting that most skin care products are marketed to women, as though men don’t care about their skin. Well, maybe they don’t. But, I love that Skin 2 Skin offers a product line geared to human skin — all skin, regardless of skin type, gender, or age. Pretty cool, I think.

I tried a few of their products and I have to say that I found myself really consistently using them. I know. Surprised me, too!

I’ve bought many skin care products over the years, but after a few uses I often get lazy or forget I even have them. A recent afternoon spent cleaning, purging, and organizing my bathroom ended with a trash bag full of stuff — including a couple handfuls of those frangrance inserts from magazines, broken hair bands (why did I KEEP those?), nearly empty lip gloss tubes, and unsurprisingly more than a few old beauty products that got lost in the endless mounds of creams, cleansers, toners, hair masks, makeup, etc. that a bathroom can accumulate over time.

But, the Skin 2 Skin products are the only ones that I use consistently enough to garner a place on top, in full view, right next to the sink. And since I like a pretty minimal look in that area, that is really saying something.

Also important, they contain no parabens, sulfates, phthalates, or other harmful ingredients. They are certified vegan and cruelty-free.

Here are the items that I’m using:

Skin 2 Skin Care - White Tea Face Wash

White Tea Face Wash, Hydrating Daily Cleanser – This one is used more than all the rest. White Tea is one of my favorite scents, hands down. It just has a clean, fresh smell that invigorates me. Which is why I also regularly buy the White Tea scent of liquid hand soap to have on hand for the million times a day that I seem to use it!

One of the few makeup items I use daily is mascara. I hate a face wash that smears it around and requires multiple applications to get it all removed. This one gets it all the first time, with no lingering mascara residue to deal with.

Skin 2 Skin Care - Enzyme Renewal Mask

Enzyme Renewal Mask – As much as I love the daily cleanser, this one is just as great a product. It exfoliates and smooths my skin, leaving it feeling fresher and newer than before. Additionally, it also helps reduce redness and discoloration. And it contains antioxidants and vitamins to moisturize and hydrate skin.

I don’t do spa days, but I have had facials at those home parties like Mary Kay and Avon or whatever and the way my skin feels after using this mask is very much like that. It feels like I’ve pampered myself, for sure.

If I had to choose only two items to have, the daily cleanser and renewal mask would be my choice. The other three I’m getting ready to talk about are great, too, though. So, you decide for yourself based on your skin’s needs which ones would be in your top two.

Anti-Sagging Renewal Serum – Featuring the PepStem4 Ultra-Lift™ Complex of Tripeptides, Dipeptides and Stem Cells, this one is astonishing in its ability to take the slacking skin on my forehead and, to some degree, under my eyes and make those vulnerable areas feel firmer.

It has really firmed up my forehead skin that seemed like it was starting to feel a bit less fixed in place. Like, you know when you wipe sweat off your forehead when it’s hot outside? I was starting to notice that instead of the skin staying firmly in place like when I was younger, it seemed like the skin wanted to drag with my hand a bit. This helps with that. Ditto under my eyes, where I’ve noticed in recent years that when I wipe under them with my finger that the skin wants to come along for the ride.

Revitalizing Eye Gel – I’m starting to get sagging under my eyes sometimes, occasional puffiness, and the beginnings of crow’s feet. In addition to helping reduce the appearance of aging this product just gives the skin around my eyes a much younger, healthier, tighter appearance overall. It’s really an amazing eye gel. Again, I’ve tried all kinds, but Skin 2 Skin is my favorite — by far!

And since my eyes and lips are the best features of my face, in my opinion, this eye gel might (on second thought) give the renewal mask or the daily cleanser a run for the money on being one of the two I’d keep if I had to choose.

Aging Intervention Cream – Even if you weren’t interested in any of the previous cleansing or firming products mentioned, this would be the one I recommended as a basic, daily item that everyone could benefit from. Every one of us has to be out in the world daily, so everyone’s skin is affected by environmental factors ranging from sun exposure to pollutants. If you only try one Skin 2 Skin product, this one should be it. It’s a deceptively simple daily moisturizer that features a dizzying array of benefits.

It not only moisturizes, but also will reduce fine lines and wrinkles, reduce the occurence of blemishes, has anti-aging benefits, and supports overall more youthful and glowing skin.

Seriously, there are too many awesome ingredients and skin issues that Skin 2 Skin products address for me to be able to do them any justice without droning on and on and on. But the gist is that they are a “science-based, natural plant powered formulation infused with essential nutrients, plant stem cells, multiple anti-oxidants and peptides” to not only renew skin and give it a more youthful appearance, but also to repair damage. — Source: Skin 2 Skin Care website

We Switched To Natural Hair And Beauty Essentials

I like to switch up my haircare products between natural and the name or store brands you may find at any retailer.  I recently switched my son over to a natural deodorant and he’s already using a natural shampoo bar and body bar. It was only fitting to switch to a natural shampoo bar for myself. We switched to natural hair and beauty essentials and we’re excited to share what we found!

I am always looking to simplify my life whether by organic clothing, food/cooking, beauty, fitness, health, and wellness. When I use natural shampoo and conditioner, I always like to keep a brand name to use at least once a week. Natural hair care tends to leave my hair feeling heavy and look greasy!

Natural Care For The Family

As a single mom, I am always on a budget. However, when it comes to beauty, I like to be picky with what I use!  A few months ago, I had to purchase a list of basic beauty essentials to send to school for my son, such as a comb/brush, toothbrush, toothpaste, lotion, deodorant, etc.  They were going to work with the students on how to use these items, basic needs, and how to care for themselves! At the time, I needed to buy the items quickly, so I didn’t choose natural items!  After buying everything on the list, I realized, I should choose natural beauty for the family!

Self-Care Ideas For Busy Moms

In order to be the best mom that you can be, you need to think about how you can take care of yourself and find the time to do so. There are phrases like ‘you can’t pour from an empty cup’ and it really can be true when it comes to being a parent; it is near impossible to look after others when you are running on empty. We can feel lethargic and lacking in energy, as well as feeling mentally drained from time to time. So it is really important to make sure that we are doing all we can to look after ourselves as well as our children. Make some intentional choices about your health and well-being and it will make a difference.

So if you are looking to live life with more of a self-care mindset, then here are some of the things that you should be focusing on each day, so that you are able to make yourself much more of a priority.

Beauty Brite Disclosure

I will be the first to admit that I neglect hair care. I spend all my time focused on my skin, that my hair gets forgotten. I am the worst about a quick blow dry, brush, and out the door without any kind of heat protection. Most days, I am rushing out the door after I gave myself a brisk 30 minutes to get ready due to hitting that snooze button about 10 times. My hair is full of static and honestly, just flat.

I am a busy mom. I am thankful I can work from home, so I try to do my work while my son is at school. My son has special needs, so I try to work around him. We get extra early just so we have our own quiet time to get ready for the day. He gets dressed and ready for school and then watches cartoons. I like to get ready by putting on my makeup and doing anything else I need to do and then get a little work done.
