I’ve seen OFRA Cosmetics everywhere online. OFRA Cosmetics is also available at ULTA Beauty too. I only had one of their products on hand and enjoy using it. It’s one of their highlighters! Since I am fairly new to their brand, I am thankful they offered to send me a variety of products. I gave them the foundation colors I use from another brand and they sent me two foundations to try.

You have a choice. Look for the leaping bunny logo, cruelty-free, natural, vegan, etc. When it came time to buy deodorant for my son, I originally bought him some from a discount store. When I brought it home and looked at everything I had to buy for his class, I realized I need to switch him to natural products too! I no longer worry because I have him using a natural deodorant too!

Double Down Cosmetics – The Cruelty-Free Brand You Need to Try!

Double Down Cosmetics Main Image

It’s 2020, and many brands are still not cruelty-free. If this is a big deal to you, there’s one cruelty-free brand that should be on your radar, and that’s Double Down Cosmetics! This affordable, award-winning cosmetics brand offers a variety of bold and neutral cosmetics that every makeup enthusiast and makeup pro will enjoy.

The Double Down Review

Since going cruelty-free, I had the opportunity to test out a few products from Double Down Cosmetics. I chose three shadows: MEDEAIJBabsGlo, and Control ($10 each). All three of these shadows would also work when mixed with a base to use as a liner.

The shadows are nicely pigmented and blend beautifully. They’re easy to work with, and, when used with a primer, do last a few hours. The BabsGlo makes a beautiful liner, and I can’t wait to use it more that way this summer.

The Punk/The Future Bundle ($18.99) and Spearmint tinted lip balms are wondrous. They give a subtle tint to the lips while moisturizing them. I have been grabbing these lip balms more often than some of my higher end ones.

If you do a lot of traveling or go into the city for school, their Starts With Foundation & Contour Ain’t About Geometry Bundle Bags ($10) is a great product). There is plenty of room to fit everything that I need in there.

Overall Thoughts

I’ve enjoyed the products that I’ve tried so far! What’s even better is that they are super affordable, cruelty-free, and organic. If you are in the market for new makeup and want to try a new brand, I can’t say enough great things about products from Double Down Cosmetics. If you enjoy bold colors, get yourself the BabsGlos!

A Cruelty-Free Brand People Should Know About

The Organic Skin Co. Products Opened

One of my big beauty and skin care goals for 2019 is to use more cruelty-free brands. My long-term goals are to go organic and vegan. I recently had the opportunity to kick my 2019 goal into gear by testing out some beauty products from The Organic Skin Co.

About The Organic Skin Co.

“Ethics are important to us. We want you to be clear about what ingredients we put in our products, and we want you to know that we’re doing the right thing by you and by our planet. Here’s a look at all the little things we do to give you peace of mind.”

The Organic Skin Co. is certified organic, cruelty-free, and vegan.

Face Products

Set to Impress Pressed Powder in Moonlit ($56) – This is a great setting powder that has a slight tint to it. When swatching I thought it was going to go on the skin darker, but it doesn’t. For me, that’s a great thing. While translucent powders are great, I do like a little color to them. I don’t typically have a ton of shine during the winter months, but this works great at controlling the shine, even when I’m not wearing any foundation.

Lip Products

All About the Gloss in Mist ($30) – This by far one of my favorite lip glosses that I’ve worn in a long time. It’s perfect for every day, it’s comfortable to wear, doesn’t have a strong odor, and it’s just an all-around great product. I still recommend wearing a lip balm under if you have dry lips, but it’s still an excellent gloss.

Lip Service in Ruby Red ($34.50) – This is a neutral red lipstick that works as an everyday color. Even if you’re like me and don’t typically wear red lipsticks, this is a natural red to wear! It’s moisturizing, goes on smoothly, and does last a good couple of hours before having to re-apply.

Eyes

Black Lash in Black ($40) – This isn’t going to give you the look of false lashes. It’s necessary to point this out right away. However, this is still an excellent mascara for work or school.

The Eyes Have It in Day Dreamer and Misty ($36) – I’ve been on a natural eye makeup look, and even started using cream eye shadows. So of course, I had to test out two of the brands cream shadows: Day Dreamer and Misty. Misty is a muted taupe and Day Dreamer is a medium brown. Both are great to throw on, apply some eyeliner, mascara, and you’re good to go!

Overall Thoughts

If you want a cruelty-free and vegan brand, I can’t say enough about The Organic Skin Co. Everything I’ve tried is great! I already have a cart full of products that I can’t wait to order and try out!

More and more, consumers are realizing that they have choices. For me, I know I have a choice to choose cruelty-free beauty products. For the longest time, I always choose green-friendly, eco-friendly and earth-friendly cleaning products, especially after my son was born. I realized when I was pregnant that I wanted to use safer products to clean our home. There was no need to use chemicals that made me dizzy just to clean!

As a makeup user, I’ve become familiar with plenty of brands–but as any simple trip to Sephora or Ulta will tell you, there are always more to find and explore! One brand that I’ve recently come across is Mally Beauty, a line whose creator has been a professional makeup artist for years (and worked with the likes of Jennifer Lopez). Mally–the founder and namesake of the brand–promises that her brand is cruelty-free and “high-performance” for women on the go (of which there are many!).

Transparency is the new trend; throughout modern society, people are endeavoring to learn more about what they’re eating, what they’re wearing (did you know that, according to a recent mindbodygreen article, one fast-fashion T-shirt “uses 700 gallons of water” to be made?!), and where their trash is going (check out The Story of Stuff for more on that subject). The beauty world is also following this trend by heading down the vegan and cruelty-free road. While “vegan” does not necessarily mean perfect, its “cruelty-free” partner is usually the tagline that actually sells me on a product.
