It’s been over a year since I first started 21 Day Fix. I bought it when it first came out and made it through one round. I had tried it again a few times after that but could never finish the program due to working, life, family, etc. Don’t get me wrong, my body hurt through it but I felt so strong and happy. The workouts were perfect for me at the time because they are only 30 minutes long. It was great since I was working full time at the time. Now that I am a stay at home mom again, I wanted to give this program a try again.

I have tried to do 21 Day Fix here and there over the last year with bad results. I would get really dizzy and nauseous soon after starting the workout. This time around, I am trying to incorporate black beans, Greek yogurt mixed with chia seeds, eggs and protein shakes into my daily life more. I know that my body needs the protein, and that seems to help with my endurance.

Since I am trying to avoid injury or burning myself out on this program, I am doing the modifications and taking it easy. If I need to rest for a bit, I pause the video to take a breath. The workout schedule is pretty much the same for 21 Days straight with no rest days in between. Of course, it is your program, so you can take a rest day if your body needs it. There are options to kick start your workout or to double up on your workouts if you want the challenge. This program is so customizable.

The first day is Total Body Cardio Fix which really challenges me! It gets my body moving and my muscles felt sore that evening. The second day is Upper Fix which works your upper body, your core and arms. I can already see myself improving on this program.

I was pretty sore for Day 2 and 3. I decided to take a hot soak with Epsom salts and baking soda. It helped ease the pain for a bit. I was much less sore for the rest of the week as I also used Magnesium Oil. I have tried it two different ways. One evening, I decided to spray Magnesium Oil where I was sore. The next evening, I sprayed Magnesium Oil all over my sore muscles and then take took a shower. Either way, the magnesium oil helped ease the pain dramatically. Day 6 fell on a Saturday and I seriously considered taking a rest day as I was feeling lazy. However, I pushed myself to do the workout! I ended up skipping Day 7 of Yoga Fix. I will add it in for Week 2 as a double workout day.

Looking back, week 1 is tough but I want to keep going. The workouts are challenging and definitely work different parts of my body. I feel like I get an overall great workout with this program. This is only my first week but I can already picture myself getting stronger.
