When I was asked to try the Uptown Chic and Downtown Edge look using Mary Kay products, I quickly accepted. I love using Mary Kay products. I am always so impressed with the color and how customizable they are. I can make them as bold as I want or go subtle. I received the products needed to create the Uptown Chic and Downtown Edge looks in exchange for my honest opinion.
The first look I tried was the Uptown Chic look. When I was reading the tutorial on how to create the look, I honestly did not think the look would work well with my skin tone. I thought the colors would be too light on me. Surprisingly, I liked the look. It is different and worth trying every so often.
I did my look a little differently. I used Amber Blaze on my eyelids and used Glistening Gold on my outer corners of my eyes instead of inner corners. Even though I did the look a little differently, I really liked the colors! They really brightened my eyes up! I then used the Translucent Loose Powder to keep my look fresh all day. I topped my look with Tangerine Pop lipstick. I was not sure how the color would go with my skin and it surprised me! I love the pop of color!
I really like the Downtown Chic look. It is edgy and bold. I decided to wear it to work! I used Brilliant Black on my eyelids. Then I used Jet Black eye liner on my eyes. I usually do not do the “wing effect” but decided to give it a try. I made it very subtle and I really love it! I received Toasted Grille lip crayon and I used that to top off my look.
Both the Uptown Chic and Downtown Edge looks are so different and easily recreated! Mary Kay makeup lasts all day. The colors blend so well and really help me achieve whatever look I want.
