After my treadmill epic fail, I decided to re-evaluate my workout routine. After talking to my mom about starting out slowly and getting used to the machine, I decided to take that advice. Last week, I walked between 15 to 20 minutes at a time. Some days, I woke up early and walked 10 minutes in the morning and then another 20 minutes in the evening on the treadmill. Others, I would do 15 to 20 minutes in the evening.
This week, I started doing 30 minutes straight on the treadmill! My treadmill has 8 different workouts. I am working my way through the first two workouts for now. Next week, I hope to work my way up to 45 to 60 minutes on the treadmill.
I hope that my husband will start using the treadmill. He is home during the day, so he can easily use it throughout the day for a quick pick-me-up. Plus, I wanted to get the treadmill to benefit the both of us. We both have no excuse to not walk as we have a treadmill in our living room.
I love doing my workout in the evening when I get home. It is a great way to get rid of the stress of the day. My son and husband are so supportive of me using the treadmill every evening. My son loves being near me when I am on it.
I want to work my way up to 60 minutes on the treadmill! My 30 minute workouts are great for now, but I eventually want to make it to 60 minutes. I am amazed that my treadmill workouts are so invigorating. My whole body gets a great workout. I do love walking, so now I can walk indoors without the excuse of the weather. I have never been a runner or a jogger, so I am trying to jog as long as I can on the treadmill and then switch to a fast walk if needed.
I hope to add my other workout programs to my routine. It is nice to change it up so my muscles are challenged.
