Time to think

Time to think

Over the last week or so, I have had a lot of time to think. Last week, I resigned from my job. I have missed being a stay at home mom, especially after working full time for the last year and a half. I am able to have more time for my blog and I am trying to get back on track with fitness.

Last week, our area was hit with snow twice. The first time was unexpected. The news forecasters and weather apps failed to warn us. My son has missed so much school due to school closing for the weather. He missed 3 days of school just last week. The second time the snow hit, we had warning. The snow was to hit on Wednesday evening into Thursday morning. On Wednesday, my husband and I went to the warehouse store for food. We were pretty much out of food anyway.

This past week, I have had a lot of time to think about things. I have been thinking about re-enrolling in online college for awhile now. Due to working full time, I was always hesitant about taking the step to enroll in school. I was also worried about the cost, loans and time commitment. A few years ago, I tried online college and after only a few classes, I dropped out and owed a couple of thousands of dollars from the loans! The loan part of college really bothered me, which is a main reason why I dropped out.

A few months ago, I found a college that offers online learning and incredibly affordable tuition. I believe that the cost of college kept me from pursuing a degree. Also, when I was working full time, I felt like I could not spare the time for college.

I have decided I am going to go for it! I am going to go back to college to earn my degree! I am scared. I am nervous. I am excited. I figured, I should earn my degree while I am not working. I just hope I can do it. I like to stay busy. I am trying to connect with current students and reading the comments on their social media pages for reviews of the school. The students seem very happy with the school and their studies.

I requested my transcripts. One is completed and another will be processed as soon as I fill out a form for my transcript request. I also applied for financial aid this past weekend. I hope to start classes in April, although, I wish I could start sooner.
