The rejection really hurt

Today, I received a response from someone I pitched [to do a review on my blog] and she turned me down.  I was really bummed about it.  When I sent her my pitch letter yesterday, I did it as a way to “take a chance.”  I really didn’t expect her to allow me to review for her but I wanted to take the chance anyway.  When I received her response, I did not expect to feel so horrible about it.

I was already a fan of her Facebook page and wanted to review her product so much.  For the last several weeks, I have been interested in alphabet art!  I would love to create my own framed art projects to hang up around my own home.  While I am not crafty, I love framed art and would love to create my own.

Anyway, to make a long story short, I received her response early this afternoon.  I felt so down about it and even considered taking my own pictures of letters to make my own art projects.

After conducting an internet search for other options, I eventually found eBay, there are a few sellers on there that sell the very same product I want!  I have always turned to eBay or Amazon for products that I want but cannot afford if I were to buy it directly from a website.

In conclusion, I am so thrilled to have found a similar product for much less!  This has made me realize that I am determined.  When I set my mind to something, I find a way to make it happen!

So, how do YOU handle rejection?  How would you have handled this situation?

being a blogger it happens all the time ive been through it alot but never let it get me down i would just find a different company or product to ask to review. it takes alot of time depending on how new a blogger is but its very fulflling that your opinion matter so much to people and the companies

  2. I definitely don’t handle rejection well. As much as it isn’t personal, it becomes personal. I just developed a media kit throughout this last week so I can start making my “pitches” – scared to death. I would not make a good salesperson. My products that I review tend to fall into my lap. It is time I put myself out there….

  3. i have been surprised when big companies work with me and then some small ones reject me….i keep my head up and move on to the next one 🙂 keep your head up sweetie cuz ur amazing and if they didnt see it they dont deserve u !

  4. Sorry you were rejected hun 🙁 but as a blogger I think you just have to take it with a pinch of salt. Don’t take anything to heart. When one door shuts another one opens and although you did not get the product to review you can now write about what you found on ebay/amazon.
My only pet peeve when pitching is if I get no response at all. I would rather a thanks but no thanks email than to be ignored.
