The Texas Cowboy
By Katheryn Lane
About the book:
Everything’s bigger in Texas, including the problems.
When Vicky flies into Texas, she immediately falls for the charms of local cowboy, Jack Cassidy. However, her wealthy Dallas cousin, Laura, has other ideas and will do everything she can to steer Vicky away from Jack and into the arms of a rich oilman.
Jack is resigned to living the life of a lonely cowboy whose only female company is his horses—that is, until he meets Vicky. However, Vicky isn’t the only person with a claim on his heart. Jack wasn’t always alone and his ex is about to make a dramatic comeback.
Every cowboy has a past and this cowboy’s past is about to destroy his future.
I received an ebook to read and review in exchange for my honest opinion.
The Texas Cowboy is not the first book I have read by Katheryn Lane. I have had the pleasure of reading a few of her other books that you can find by clicking on Katheryn Lane book reviews. When Ms. Lane asked me to review The Texas Cowboy, I already knew I wanted to read it before I read the synopsis. I really enjoy Ms. Lane’s books.
It took me a few days to read her book because I do work full time and I am trying to juggle personal time, family time, blog time and fitness time. I try to put my family and fitness time over anything else.
I enjoyed getting to know Vicky, Jack, Laura and David. Vicky is visiting from the UK and staying with her distant cousin Laura who lives in Dallas with her husband David. Laura and David live a very extravagant lifestyle. Vicky is lives a completely opposite life of being frugal.
When Vicky and Laura first run into Jack, Laura quickly dismisses him because she thinks he does not come from money and status. Vicky is interested in him regardless of how Laura feels. Vicky and Jack run into some bumps in the road of their relationship. All the while, Laura tries to set Vicky up with a gentleman whom she thinks is perfect for her.
Jack is trying to keep his past a secret from Vicky and it seems to affect their relationship. Vicky can sense something is wrong and then they are forced to deal with the past head on!
The Texas Cowboy is a fun and adventurous read. Discover love with a cowboy in Texas, visit a ranch, take horse ride and get to know Vicky and Jack. I love reading romance books as it reminds me of when I was dating my husband. I miss the newness and getting to know him part of our relationship. I love that my husband and I know each other so well.
