I have found that occasionally we need a little detoxing. Our bodies and minds are stressed and overworked. The average American eats a lot of garbage we probably shouldn’t. We also tend not to be as mobile as we should be.

I consider myself to be a protein bar aficionado. I do tend to eat a lot of protein bars in lieu of meals during the day to sustain my hunger and keep my energy going for my everyday tasks. I’ve had Clif Bars in the past and always enjoyed them especially the Luna Chocolate Peppermint Stick, which is my all-time favorite. These are so good as an afternoon pick me up and they taste just like rich hot chocolate with peppermint candies crushed inside. Recently, my family and I had the opportunity to take a mid-week getaway to the Monterey Peninsula for my husband’s 39th birthday and to kick off the summer vacation for our six-year old. Breakfast used to be the most neglected meal of the day in my household. Our mornings are usually a tad on the chaotic side; rushing to get ready and be out the door. But, there is no shortage of evidence that proves that a healthy breakfast can speed up metabolism and give you essential energy needed to power through your day.
Every weekday morning, I wake up extra early just so I have time to snooze, eat a quick breakfast and do my makeup! I like having my quiet time while getting ready! I am always looking to save time in the morning so I have more time to prepare myself for a long work day!
As part of a healthy lifestyle, I should be taking vitamins to help supplement. However, the last time I recall taking a multi-vitamin was at least 5 years ago. I bought a store brand multi-vitamin and I remember it made me feel nauseous! I stopped taking it after only a few days. What a waste of money! That is why I prefer natural vitamins. I received Realfood Organics Prenatal and Women’s Daily Nutrition vitamins to review in exchange for my honest opinion.
