With every season change, I am reminded to evaluate my makeup and skincare products. I like to use products that work with the weather. In the winter, I tend to use moisturizing products that protect my skin at night. In the summer, I like to use fewer skin care products that allow my skin to breathe in the hot weather.
My skincare routine currently consists of cleanser, toner, serum, moisturizer and a mask at least once a week. I wear makeup during the week, so I need to cleanse my face every morning and evening.
Before preparing my face for my makeup, I start with basic cleanser. I then move on to toner, serum, and moisturizer.
Start with a primer
I prepare my face for my makeup with PUR Correcting Primer. The Illuminate & Glow is perfect for me because it really adds that natural looking glow! Then I complete my makeup routine.
Add color to your lips
I admit, I rarely wear lipgloss or lipstick. I am more of a lip balm wearing mom! However, if I do wear lip gloss or lipstick, I wear subtle colors, such as PUR Lipstick in Smooth Talker! It goes on smooth and adds just enough color to my lips.
Set your makeup
I like to set my makeup to last all day long! The PUR Miracle Mist does just that. You can use it as a setting spray. I also use the mist throughout the day to freshen up my skin, especially after my workouts.
Don’t forget sunscreen
There are so many options for sunscreen. I tend to choose products that offer higher SPF protection. The Tree Hut Skincare Protecting Daily Moisturizer with Broad Spectrum SPF 30 Sunscreen and Palmer’s Eventone Suncare Moisturizing Sunscreen Cocoa Butter SPF 30 are great options! I use both products on my son’s skin as well.
Cleanse in the evening
Now that the day is over, it is time to remove your makeup and stress of the day from your face! I use Comedix Purity Solution Cleansing Oil. After removing my eye makeup (eyeliner, eyeshadow, and mascara), I apply the cleansing oil on dry skin. Then I add a little bit of water! Next, I add a pearl size amount of the Cosmedix Pure Enzymes Mask. I only use the mask once a week or less.
Even if you don’t wear makeup, be sure to cleanse and moisturize your face daily! Also, use sunscreen! There are sunscreens made just for your face, just like Tree Hut Skincare Protecting Daily Moisturizer with Broad Spectrum SPF 30 Sunscreen. I always remind my husband to apply sunscreen to his face and body before we step outside to run errands as a family. The Palmer’s Eventone Suncare Moisturizing Sunscreen Cocoa Butter SPF 30 is perfect for my whole family!

I would definitely love to try the lipstick. Thanks for the review.
I don’t like to use a lot of makeup, especially now that I’m in my mid 50’s – it is easy to make it look like I have worse wrinkles around my eyes than I do have. Lol. But I make sure to clean my face well at night.
I love using cleansing oils to remove my makeup! I bet the Cosmedix one works very well.
Ive heard of PUR but never tried it. Good article
Wow this is much more than I have done, but I do use sunscreen. I should at least wash off my makeup at night. I’d like to try some of these ideas.
I’ve never been able to wear makeup, too many allergies, but yes one needs to still wash their face daily and moisturize too!
I love Palmer’s Cocoa Butter, makes the skin so soft.
Cocoa butter is great for the skin. Makes it smooth and soft! Thanks for all the tips! 🙂
I love Pur cosmetics.
I always forget to set my makeup.. that is the most important tip to keeping your makeup fresh and smooth..great post
These are important tips everyone should remember. I wash and moisturize twice a day.
I’ll have to look into the Pur lipstick as I like wearing light colors on my lips. I’ve never heard of this brand but am excited to learn more.
I clean my face morning and night in the shower less mess. I have read about PUR Correcting Primer. but have never tried it
