My Goals for 2016

Are you the type to make goals for yourself? Every New Year, I try to make changes. I don’t like to call them resolutions because that would set me up for failure. My biggest change I made was at the end of 2013, I wanted to be more organized with our paperwork. I spent my New Year’s Eve getting organized after several years of just throwing our paperwork in a box.

I think that I fell into a mild depression this year. I barely took care of my houseplants (even though they are so calming). Last year, I took home some succulents my parents gave me and I haven’t taken care of them as I should. My African Violets are not doing too well in their current location, especially in the winter time. In the summer time, they thrive. They are right in front of a window and it doesn’t help that it is always so cold and that leaks inside. So my plants are blasted with cold air.

I also think my depression and health issues kept me from working out as much as I really should be. My energy and motivation isn’t where it used to be. I look back at my old Facebook statuses and they are all about what workouts I did that day. I am trying to get back to jogging on the treadmill more often! It’s been hard for me to find the energy and motivation for fitness.

I hope for a new beginning for 2016!

Here are my goals for 2016:

– Write more lifestyle posts. A blogger friend of mine is working to write one post a day for a full year. I am not sure if I could do that but I definitely want to up my game on more lifestyle posts!

– Increase blog traffic – I am already working on this as I am trying to promote my blog posts on social media.

– Make more blog friends. I am always looking to expand my blog circle and it seems everyone already has their little cliques. How do you make new friends?

– Take more time for myself. I plan on doing more for myself, such as caring for my houseplants, reading, or binging on my favorite shows.

Aside for my personal life, I am very happy with my blog life. My blog allows me to work from home and take care of my family. I do need more help from my husband with paying the bills as he is the one who works full time and makes a regular paycheck. As it is now, I pay all the bills. I work from home and my earnings are not steady. I think it would be less stress on me if I had regular help with finances.

What are your goals for 2016? Do you make New Year’s Resolutions?

  1. Wow, a post a day, I wish I could do that! I also am trying to figure out how to increase blog traffic and make more blog friends. I’ve been trying to remember to put every post on Facebook. I”m not sure how to make more friends and have people comment more, I’m trying to figure that out.
