Memoirs of Mobster Review

Memoirs of a Mobster
By Judy Serrano

About the book:

Diego Montiago Jr. was groomed to run the largest criminal organization in both the United States and Mexico by the kingpin of the syndicate himself, who also happens to be his uncle. With no conscience or remorse he becomes a true killer with a reputation that keeps most people at a distance. The betrayal of his high school sweetheart sends Diego into a tailspin, which causes him never to expect love to be a feasible addition to his world. During a lavish birthday party for his mother, his best friend and cousin decides to collect on an overdue debt. Little does he know that this exchange will change him forever.

In book four of the series Diego Jr. continues to protect his family and fill the shoes of the former Mexican Godfather, Diego Montiago Sr. His real father, who is the kingpin of the rival organization, begins his deceitful attack, causing Diego to choose his allegiance. The organization engulfs his life and the lives of those around him as the siblings begin to realize that things are not even close to what they appear to be. Will love find Diego Montiago after all? Only time will tell.

My Review:

Memoirs of a Mobster is the fourth book by Judy Serrano following the Montiago family.  The first three books in the series are as follows:  Easter’s Lilly, Brother Number 3 and Relatively Close.

In Memoirs of a Mobster, we follow Diego Junior who is all grown up.  He is head of the Montiago organization and joins forces with Octavio whom he considers to be his best friend and someone he can trust.

Diego and Octavio must decide which family to trust, all the while discovering love along the way.  They are guarded when it comes to love because of their past.  Mob life is dangerous and sheltered at the same time.

Like her previous three books, Memoirs of a Mobster was action packed and dripping with blood, love and lust.  There were so many twists and turns, I was suspicious of everyone who tried to enter the Montiago world.  Some characters will surprise you, some will annoy you and some you will just adore.

Serrano’s writing is so addicting, she will have you hooked from the very first page.  I would love the books be turned into a movie or a short series, I would be the first to purchase the set.
