My husband and I are fortunate to have great friends; they come from all walks of life. A lot of our friends happen to be terrific musicians or have incredible musical talent, so one day we all decided that it might be fun to put our heads again and form a band. This musical “project” is in the beginning stages, but I’m incredibly proud of the small steps we’ve made. I’m also quickly learning that if you want to get gigs, then you’ve usually also got to look the part.
I’m excited to share with you a rock and roll inspired look that I’ve created with some terrific products!
A good primer is essential to giving your look staying power throughout the night. Japonesque Radiance Primer was inspired by backstage makeup artist secrets; it compliments your complexion by adding a hint of radiance to skin. Even if I’m completely exhausted, once I’ve applied this primer, my skin never shows it. Reflective pigments give the appearance of a healthy, youthful glow. After I’ve washed and dried my face, this is always the first product I apply to my face. After I’ve allowed a minute for it to completely dry and set, I apply my foundation and a peachy blush.
One of my favorite concealers is the Japonesque Pixelated Color Eyelighter. This is perfect for someone like me that suffers from noticeable dark circles. HD pigments reflect light and cleverly conceal pesky dark tones. With a few twists of the dial at the base, the concealer releases onto the brush. Gently brush over areas of concern and carefully blend with your finger. This product is great to throw in your purse for easy touch-ups.
I needed an eyeshadow palette that contained beautiful colors to compliment the traditional rock look I wanted to achieve. Fiona Stiles Artist Eyeshadow Quad in Barrow was the perfect choice! This palette could be used to achieve an appropriate daytime look at the office or a rock n’ roll style for the evening!
To add a little heavy metal touch, I also used Fiona Stiles Radiant Aqua Eye Veil in Galaxy Way. When dried, this wet shadow leaves eyes with a gorgeous metallic shimmer. It dries fairly quickly, so you will have a small window of time to work with it.
For my look, I swept the white shadow from the Barrow Palette across my brow bone. Carefully, I applied the Radiant Aqua Veil in Galaxy Way over my entire lid. Next, I used the medium taupe shade in my crease and finished my look by smudging the dark brown shadow across my lower lash line.
After allowing my eyeshadow to completely dry, I carefully applied L.A. Colors Dramatilash in Dainty eyelashes. I love this brand; they are incredibly inexpensive and work beautifully. I applied strip lash adhesive to my lashes and delicately applied the strip lashes to my upper lash line.
This is my quick, easy look for rockin’ out or when I’m ready for a night out on the town. I hope it inspired you to add a little rock and roll flavor to your life!
