Loose Ends

Loose Ends
By Terri Reid

About the book:

Dying is what changed Mary O’Reilly’s life. Well, actually, coming back from the dead and having the ability to communicate with ghosts is really what did it.

Now, a private investigator in rural Freeport, Illinois, Mary’s trying to learn how to incorporate her experience as a Chicago cop and new-found talent into a real job. Her challenge is to solve the mysteries, get real evidence (a ghost’s word just doesn’t hold up in court), and be sure the folks in town, especially the handsome new police chief, doesn’t think she’s nuts.
Twenty-four years ago, a young woman drowned in the swimming pool of a newly elected State Senator. It was ruled an accident. But now, as the Senator prepares to move on to higher positions, the ghost of the woman is appearing to the Senator’s wife.

Mary is hired to discover the truth behind the death. She unearths a connection between the murder and the disappearance of five little girls whose cases, twenty-four years later, are still all unsolved. As she digs further she becomes the next target for serial killers’ quest to tie up all his loose ends.

 My Review:

I love finding and downloading free ebooks on Amazon.  Lately, I have been downloading a ton of books that I find interesting with genres ranging from mystery, paranormal, romance and even books on saving money.  The other day, I was browsing through my Kindle looking for a book to read and came upon Loose Ends.  When I saw it, I did not remember downloading it.  I looked it up on Amazon to read the synopsis and decided to give it a try.

I read Loose Ends in just a few days!  I love the characters and their humor that I literally laughed out loud!  I love Reid’s sense of humor because it is very similar to my personality.  I love being sarcastic and silly.  Her characters come to life and I could easily relate to them.  Reid’s writing is so descriptive.  I was captivated from the very first chapter.  Each page kept me wanting to read more.  It was very difficult to put this book down.

I love mystery and suspense and when you add paranormal, it gets even more interesting!  I am so glad I decided to read Loose Ends.  I think it’s kind of serendipitous how it ended up on my Kindle, as I do not remember downloading it from Amazon.  I think the Universe wanted me to read this book.

I cannot wait to read more by Terri Reid.  I hope she offers more of her books on Amazon for free.  Her writing is addictive.  The characters are lovable and real.
