I had a job interview today

I had a job interview today for a position I applied for about a month ago with the City. I currently work for the County but I am looking for more opportunities for advancement. I have applied for promotions with my current job for over a year and only received one interview. I have been at my current job for a year and a half and counting. Unfortunately, I have realized that my position is a dead end. Management has no intention of promoting me. I am stuck, or at least I feel like that. I already excel at my current position, so I am actively looking for other opportunities.

My husband and I would like to move back to California. I would like to move sooner than he would. I miss my family. It has been over 12 years since we moved out of California. In the meantime, I am looking for any opportunities while we are here.

I applied for a job with the City and they called me about three weeks after I submitted my application. I had an assessment test a week and a half ago and then had my interview today. I was not nervous at all until I actually walked into the building. The night before, I was too excited to fall asleep, so I ended up taking a melatonin just so I could get some much needed rest.

I am unsure of how I did nor do I feel too confident. I have no idea how many other candidates there are. I also do not know how many positions they are looking to fill. I am keeping a positive attitude. I would love to get the job, however, I will continue to look for jobs. Either way, I still have my current job and my blog to keep me busy.

What if I was offered the position? It would be a significant pay raise. My husband and I have discussed all of the possibilities for our family. It would mean we can save more money towards our move back to California.

I would love to be a stay at home mom again. I do not see that happening since my husband is entering into his second year of law school. I am also looking into returning to college to pursue my Bachelor’s Degree.

What do you currently do? Tell me about your job? When was the last time you went to a job interview? Were you nervous?

Lastly, be sure to read my tips to prefer for a job interview.
