When the opportunity to review a Hot Wheels product geared towards my son came up, I quickly signed up! I don’t see many opportunities for my son to review products, so when I saw this one, I really hoped I would get chosen! My son is 5 years old and has Autism and special needs. He loves playing with Hot Wheels cars! When Hot Wheels Nitro Speeders arrived, I opened the box without showing him what it was, I wanted to open the box before he could see it. With him, we try to take the time to show him how to play with new toys.
Here is what the toy looks like outside of the box:
We had the ‘AA’ batteries on hand, but we didn’t have the tool to unscrew it to put the batteries in the charger. Instead, we just gave the car to our son to play with. He loves the car and doesn’t even notice that the charger is needed. The size of the car worries me as it is much smaller than the average size Hot Wheels car. I am glad my son is over the stage of putting things in his mouth. If you have little ones, this would be a toy to be wary of.
