I currently do not have a facial scrub that I use and have been thinking about trying a homemade recipe.
The other day, I received a product pitch for microdermabrasion products. With less time to devote to my blog, I had to pass on the opportunity. Unfortunately, I have to be very selective with what products I can review. I do not want to take on too many opportunities because I set a personal deadline for product reviews to be posted on my blog. Instead, I wanted to try a natural and homemade microdermabrasion recipe.
I did a quick search and found several different recipes that included only two ingredients, both of which can be found in the kitchen! I can use baking soda and water to scrub my face! I love using baking soda for general cleaning because it is natural and safe to use around my family.
Homemade Microdermabrasion Recipe
2 teaspoons Baking Soda
Enough water to make a paste
Gently apply the paste to your face in circular motions for 3 to 5 minutes. Rinse well!
You can easily customize this recipe to add more or less baking soda and water.
Since I have paste leftover, I use the rest as a body scrub to help remove dead skin cells and soften my skin.
It is very important to rinse well. Baking soda can be difficult to rinse completely away, so I apply it on my face just before taking a shower. I am able to rinse my face and body at the same time.
I am so thrilled I found a homemade recipe that is safe, effective and so affordable to make! The ingredients can be found in my kitchen! I already use baking soda to clean, so I already have it on hand.
