Goodbye 2013. Today is the last Monday of 2013. This is actually a busy week for my family! Wednesday, January 1st is my 11th Wedding Anniversary! Friday, January 3rd is our son’s 8th birthday!

As I look back, I cannot believe we have made it eleven years together. We have had our ups and downs and we are far from being the perfect couple. However, we really do work as a couple. We respect each other. We listen. We have our own hobbies. We give each other time to do what we want and spend time together too. Even though Wednesday is our anniversary, we do not have any special plans. I am off of work that day, so we will all be home together.

Our son being born two days after our anniversary was obviously not planned. He was born 8 days early. He happened to be born on the first day of my vacation from the job I was working at the time. I had planned to take a whole week off to get ready for our son’s arrival. I was planning on doing some cleaning, organizing and finish packing my hospital bag too. I was only halfway done with packing my hospital bag. When my water broke early in the morning, we just brought the bag as is and went to the hospital. My son was born later that evening.

This year, my husband and I are looking forward to getting fit together. We bought a treadmill and hope to use it to help motivate us to walk and stay active. With the treadmill in our living room, we have no excuses not to walk. We can easily walk while watching television!

My family is so important to me. This is a busy week for us. This is by far, my favorite week of all.

I am looking forward to a new year. I am looking forward to a new start, a fresh start.
