Get Ready For Sun and Fun with Beachy Waves

Beauty Brite Disclosure

I love the summer time. The living is easy and the world seems like a happier place as we congregate at barbeques and at the beach. Usually, during these warmer months, the last thing I want or need is a high maintenance hair or beauty routine. I want a style that can transition from a cookout with friends and family to a long, lazy day at the beach. For me, that style has always been beachy waves. Beach waves are the perfect free-spirited look to accent any summer look. I’m excited to share my secrets with you on achieving beautiful, “crunch-free” waves that will give you a lovely, bohemian look throughout the summer.

I firmly believe that the start of any good hair style begins with a great shampoo and conditioner. Working in the salon industry for years, I religiously used professional products only; I always assumed they were the highest quality. However, I’ve discovered there are actually some amazing brands that can be found at your local pharmacy or grocery store. One company that continues to impress me is Renpure. Renpure products are incredibly affordable and free of many harmful chemicals. Renpure Originals Coconut Cream Shampoo and Conditioner is the perfect tropical treat for tresses. It works for all hair types! It weightlessly nourishes my fine, colored treated hair and delivers essential moisture to my son’s thick curls. Everyone in my household can use this! Renpure Coconut Cream Shampoo and Conditioner gently cleanses the hair and leaves no trace of residual residue. Coconut oil brings vital nutrients and hydration to thirsty strands. Renpure Originals Shampoos and Conditioners are free of sodium chloride, sulfates, dyes, salts, parabens, and gluten. They are also safe for color-treated hair.

After washing and conditioning my hair, I thoroughly towel dry my hair and generously mist Wen Tea Tree Replenishing Treatment Mist throughout my hair. This Replenishing Mist is my secret weapon against “crunchy” curls. The formula of restorative extracts and botanicals always leaves me with touchable waves. I also really like that this product works effectively if my hair needs a touch-up in my transition from day to night. It can be sprayed in dry hair to refresh your waves throughout the day if needed.

The final product I use to achieve beachy waves is Matrix Design Pulse Go Big Mousse. Matrix products have been a fixture in major salons for decades. This is because their products work simply and effectively. I’ve used Matrix color and styling products for years; they always produce tried and true results. I love this mousse because it works as a heat protectant, guards against humidity, and plumps strands with the perfect amount of volume for a wind-swept look.

I apply a golf-ball sized amount of mousse to my hand and distribute evenly throughout my hair. Next, I cup small sections of hair into my hand and gently scrunch. I repeat this step until I have an all over waved, scrunched look. You can finish this style by allowing your hair to air-dry naturally or I like to use my blow-dryer on the lowest heat seating; applying a little bit of heat while I continue to scrunch my hair for a couple of minutes. Flipping your head forward while scrunching also helps.

The Final Result: Beachy Waves!

With minimal time, effort, and the right products you can create a fun, beachy look for summer! Now, all I need is a few palm trees, a sandy beach, and an ice cold margarita for the full beach effect!
