Yesterday was Fourth of July. How was your day? Honestly, we did not have any plans.  We do not play with fireworks because our son has special needs and the expense of fireworks is never in our budget.

The weather started out overcast and then started raining. Our forecast called for showers throughout the day.  I am glad that the rain stopped by early afternoon, which allowed for our area to have a beautiful day!

We did not have plans because my husband sleeps during the day because he works graveyard on Friday and Saturday. He wanted to stay on that sleep schedule.

As I have mentioned before, my in laws are live only 7 doors down from us. It makes it convenient having family so close.

My mother in law called around 11am to say she was going to Trader Joe’s and asked if I wanted to go. Since I wanted my husband to sleep soundly, I took my son with us. With my son’s special needs, taking him anywhere can take extra time and patience. My son loves going places either for a walk or in the car. He loves the adventure.  Plus, I wanted to get both him and me out of the house for a bit!

While at Trader Joe’s, I only bought a few things. While there, my mother in law came up with the idea of making hot dogs since it was Fourth of July. I found the veggie dogs and we bought whole wheat buns, chips, and relish! She also picked up the rest of the items on her shopping list.

It was a fun trip. My son behaved and he was in a great mood! No meltdowns or tantrums.

My husband woke up around 2:30pm or so. My mother in law grilled the veggie dogs and brought the food over to our place and we enjoyed the food here.

We had a nice and unexpected and unplanned day!  How did your day go?

It sounds like you had a pleasant 4th after all, good to hear, I took my two children and fiance to my fathers house. My sister from out of town, had her hubby and two children there as well. We had a little BBQ together and went out in the back yard to light a few walmart bought fire works. It was nice, best part was just being with my family.

We didn’t do much here either. My youngest brother and myself spent the day together as everyone else had plans. We ordered some take out and around 9pm we drove to the grocery store parking lot to watch fireworks. I didn’t want to get stuck in traffic afterwards and we had a wonderful view of the show. We both had fun. Sometimes its nice just doing simple things and it’s always nice being with family.

I had a great day! I went with my daughter, friend and her son to go watch fireworks down at our town park. It’s real nice since it’s right on Lake Erie you can see about 10 different shows. It was great!
