Female Friendship & Loyalty

Despite their many differences, Rizzoli & Isles are best friends with a peculiar and compassionate relationship.  As exec-producer Janet Tamaro explains, “There’s something rare about their relationship that I see in the world but not enough on television: two smart, strong, competent women who instinctively drop the protective shield when they’re with each other.”  Do you have a relationship like Rizzoli & Isles with a co-worker or friend?  If so, what is your story?  Here is mine…

Before I was married and had our son, I worked at a hotel in Downtown Sacramento (the same place where I met my husband).  I had co-worker that I was pretty close to, we worked morning shift 4 or 5 days a week together, so we knew each other pretty well.  I have a feeling she lived a “one-viewed” life.  She got pregnant at 13 and had a baby at 14 and attended church.  We had other differences between our lives but it didn’t keep us from being friends and getting along.  We stuck by each other and helped each other during our shift.  We could depend on each other.

We never really argued or disagreed with each other.  We respected each other and did our jobs together.  We genuinely cared about each other and watch each others backs, much like Rizzoli & Isles.  You will see Isles show concern for Rizzoli and step out of her element to protect her (i.e. learn how to hold a gun and point).  I don’t know about learning to use a gun, but I would certainly help out a co-worker, if they were true and honest towards me.  If a co-worker treated me with kindness, concern, and trust, I would do the same.  Over the years, I have realized that I unfortunately cannot trust every co-worker.  When I find ones that I can trust, I guard and value that friendship!

Excited for the second season of Rizzoli & Isles? Get prepared with all 10 episodes of the first season on DVD!

Disclosure: “I have been hired by Warner Bros. WBWord division to promote Rizzoli & Isles Season One on DVD.”
