Lionsgate Entertainment is a name I’m hearing more and more when it comes to home entertainment. Recent offerings from Lionsgate include The Shack, John Wick 2, Shaun the Sheep The Movie, A Madea Christmas, Mockingjay, The Age of Adaline … so many great movies ranging from inspirational to drama, comedy, and animated.
You know with a Lionsgate film, you’re in for a good time. Most recently, my children and I watched Air Bound. It’s a cute movie about some city mice who are tired of the daily humdrum of their lives and want a little adventure. They get an adventure for sure when they meet some new friends who need help saving their family from a bunch of super-villain weasels.
Wow, those weasels were no wimps. Sometimes in animated flicks, the so-called villain can come across a little flat. You know the type, supposed to be a baddy but is more of an annoyance than a threat. The weasels in this movie were satisfyingly menacing to the hero and the mice family he was trying to help. I give it a resounding two thumbs up! This family-friendly movie is now available from Lionsgate Entertainment on DVD, Digital HD and On Demand.
Dreaming of adventure, city mouse Gavin and his buddy Matthew join a crew of Ship Mice ready to set sail — just as young Chester bursts in, pleading for help. Stowing away on a boat, the gang heads for Dream Island to defend Chester’s family of mice against Winston the White Weasel (Jon Lovitz) and his wicked weasel clan. But is their courage enough?

What movie is complete without popcorn? We gave our 17-yr-old son an electric popcorn popper for Christmas last year, complete with a huge container of un-popped popcorn kernels, liquid butter flavor topping and fun popcorn containers. The popcorn container pictured here is one of a set we’ve had for a long time. We got our son a larger squared container, as well as some disposable paper popcorn bags for when he has friends over.
The popcorn popper was my daughter’s idea. I didn’t really think it was a great gift for a teenage boy, but she was totally right. He has been having a great time making fresh-popped popcorn any old time he wants! You know you’re getting old when your adult children start choosing better gifts for people than you do. LOL
Popcorn, candy, cuddling under a soft blanket on the couch and pizza are some of our family movie night traditions. What are yours?
