We just got back from a week long vacation to Walt Disney World. We also spent a day at SeaWorld. This was a much needed vacation as it had been 3 years and 11 months since our last visit to Disney World. During that time, we were always dreaming of a trip to Disney World but we were busy with work, school and life changes. I was working full time, changed jobs and then went back to being a full time stay at home mom and blogger. My husband went to work full time and also going to college. Our schedules were all over the place. So, when the opportunity presented itself, we decided to take a relaxing and fun week off!
On our last few trips to Disney World, we had visited Downtown Disney (now called Disney Springs). It was fun to walk through the outdoor mall but back then, Downtown Disney was much smaller and had less shops. Now, there are many more shops and restaurants!
We were invited to Sprinkles at Disney Springs and I had no idea what to expect. I thought I read that it was a bakery, so I was expecting baked goods and sweet treats. However, when we arrived at Disney Springs, we realized there would be ice cream, we were even more excited!
Not knowing the layout of Disney Springs, we walked through trying to spot Sprinkles. We had just left Magic Kingdom and it was hot! We walked around the park for about 4 or 5 hours and we were hot, sweaty, exhausted and hungry! The weather was in the upper 90s and felt like over 100 degrees, plus the humidity. I felt like I was melting! After walking through Disney Springs for about 15 minutes, we had to look at a directory. Thankfully, Sprinkles just over the bridge from where we were!
When we stepped inside, we were immediately cooled off by the air conditioning! There were a few people ordering or standing at the entrance with us looking at the menu. There were a few tables outside with fellow patrons. There were also a few families inside enjoying their treats. In other words, it wasn’t too crowded to where we felt lost and forgotten at the entrance.
We were hungry but so ready for a cool treat! We had no idea what we wanted. Everything on the menu looked delicious. While we were checking out the menu, we were offered samples and of course we had to accept. Just the little samples were delicious. The taste and texture was different. The ice cream tasted very fresh and homemade. With our son having special needs, we knew we wanted a simple ice cream scoop in a cup for him. We chose Mint Chocolate Chip.
While we were waiting for our treats, we were informed that this was their slow period. We were thankful we came during a slow time. Our son can be a handful and a huge crowd would make it even more difficult to keep him near us.
I decided to order a Cookie/Brownie Sundae with Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream. Yes, both my son and I love Mint Chocolate Chip!
As soon as my son saw my treat, he wanted the cookies! Next time, he will get his own cookie toppings!
My husband chose a Sprinkles Sandwich!
As you can see from the picture above, they are prepared for long lines! Since it was so hot, I am so glad we were able to get out treats quick and cool off inside! I literally felt like I was melting. The sweet and delicious treats at Sprinkles definitely brightened our day!
Sprinkles at Disney Springs is brand new. We stopped in on Tuesday, June 14th between 2:30pm and 3:30pm. I was told that they are always busy, so we chose a time after lunch and before dinner and it was the perfect time to stop in! Sprinkles at Disney Springs had just celebrated their one month opening on June 13th.
