I was luckily enough to receive the Urban Decay Cosmetics Urban Essentials Eye Kit and Bare Minerals Beaming Beauty! Both kits are exclusive to ULTA Beauty! I have never tried Urban Decay brand, so I am thrilled for the opportunity to try a new brand and new products. I have always admired the Bare Minerals brand. I have a few of their products. I have been a long time user of mineral makeup, but lately, I am more open to using other brands and makeup.
I love makeup kits because it makes it easier for me to figure out what looks I can create. Plus, kits give me a introduction to a brand and colors to try. Kits tend to be combined with eyeshadows that look perfect together too. So it makes creating looks so much easier.
For your sexy and sultry look, you can start with the Urban Decay Cosmetics Urban Essentials Eye Kit.
I love purple, so I am so excited to chance to play with this kit! I love wearing purple and grey shades. The kit comes with Eyeshadow Primer Potion. I find that when I use primer on my eyelids, it helps to prevent creasing and my eyeshadow lasts longer. With the shape of my eyes and eyelids, I always have a problem with my eyeshadow creasing as the day goes on. When that happens, I just blend in the color with my pinky.
The kit also includes:
Eyeshadow in Bordello, Sellout and Psychedelic Sister
24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Demolition, Psychedelic Sister and Zero
My first time using the kit, I used Demolition eye pencil. The liner is a great color and glides right on. I was able to blend it in as well. I used all three eyeshadows. I started with Bordello all over my eyelids. Then, I applied Sellout from the inner corner to about mid-way on my eyelids. Last, I applied Psychedelic Sister on the outer corner of my eyelids.
For your spring look, you can start with the Bare Minerals Beaming Beauty.
It is Spring Time! When I think of spring, I think of radiant and glowing skin! When the sun comes out, I want a lighter look to brighten my eyes.
The Bare Minerals Beaming Beauty kit includes:
Lash Domination Volumizing Mascara in Intense Black
Eyeshadow in Honey Blossom and In Bloom
Marvelous Moxie Buttercream Lip Gloss in Forbidden Nude
Velvet Peach Blush
I have a sample size of the Lash Domination Volumizing Mascara and it took me awhile to even like the product. First, I have small eyes and I was not liking the big brush! I find it to be a bit too big to use on my sparse lashes and I am always getting mascara on my eyelids or under my eyes. Mascara on the skin happens a lot when you have small eyes. However, I realized that when I use the Lash Domination Volumizing Mascara, I found that it coats my lashes with only a few strokes of the wand! I love the volume I get!
One of the main reasons why I am more open to trying other makeup besides mineral makeup is because the eyeshadows come in jars. They are a mess when you have to travel or even store when not in use. If the jars are tossed around or turned upside down, the shadow gets all over the container and when you go to open it, the product spills all over the sink and your fingers. Regardless, I love the Eyeshadows in Honey Blossom and In Bloom. Both colors blend perfectly and last all day!
I normally wear lip balm throughout the day to keep my lips moisturized. I like to add lip gloss when we go out as a family. I like to add a little color and shine to my lips! I like the Marvelous Moxie Buttercream Lip Gloss in Forbidden Nude because it isn’t too bold. If I want the shine and subtle color, I use this one! Even though I am a stay at home mom, I still want to look nice! Adding a bit of shine on my lips can’t hurt!
I normally do not wear peach, light brown/beige or lighter colors because they barely show up on my medium/olive skin. I love the natural looking blush I can achieve with the Velvet Peach Blush. Just blend in and it looks great! The color isn’t too peach to where it looks like a fake blush color on my skintone. Bonus: The Velvet Peach Blush comes in a sifter jar! No more mess when you open the blush!
Whether you want that sexy and sultry look or the gorgeous spring look, you can create your own look that works for you! Both kits are a great starting point!
